  1. I've shipped 2 different Thompsons thru USPS. I told the lady behind the counter that it was a firearm and she asked whether it was a Handgun or Long gun. I said long gun... she said Oky Dokey, as long as it's not a handgun I was good to go :-) I was however shipping to a Class 3 FFL for some smith work. If I were shipping to myself, I would just include a copy of the form 4 in the box and if asked, tell them that it's machine parts. It sorta is technically lol.
  2. Hello Folks, Since there's two mag dumps from my Thompson, I guess this video meets the Thompson discussion guide lines. Took my daughter out for an afternoon of shooting. She ran through just about everything I own except for my handguns. Hope you enjoy the video and before I get reamed too awful bad... Yes, I'm aware that I totally forgot the eye protection. Between the car load of gun and trying to get some good video, I didn't even realize that she wasn't wearing eye protection till I watched the video. I did remember the ear plugs though The Thompson is a WH M1A1 with a Lyman repro sight, finned barrel and vertical front grip. I was going for the Ganster look.
  3. Hey Guys, I hope I'm successful at explaining this. I recently purchase a pristine condition WH M1A1 that came with an extra finned barrel and repro comp. I keep the finned barrel and a vertical grip on it for the "Ganster" look but after watching "Private Ryan" the other night, I decided to put the original horizontal forgrip on it for the Military look.. When I had the horizontal forgrip on the smooth barrel, it fit really snug to the barrel but when I put the forgrip on the finned barrel, there's a noticeable gap between the wood and the barrel. I'm assuming that the finned barrel is smaller in diameter than the original smooth barrel. It's got to be a lot cheaper to buy a forgrip that's sized to the smaller finned barrel rather than replace the barrel with a larger / proper sized one. My question... does anyone make a repro forgrip that will fit my smaller sized finned barrel more snugly? Sorry if I sound like a dumbwad but I worded it the best that I could. I can try to get some photos if it will help. Thanks in advance.
  4. Yes, I caught it after it was posted but can't figure out how to edit the title on Vimeo. I'll fix it if I ever figure out how.
  5. Hey Guys, Thought you might to see my latest video that I shot last week over at the Indian Creek range in S.C.. I took my best friend out to let her have some range time with some new machineguns that she hasn't had a chance to shoot yet. I think she did great and this was only her second time shooting. The video has some pretty good real speed and slow motion Thompson footage from several different angles. This is my kinda girl, she ain't afraid of any weapon I hand her and instead of shooting it and handing it back with a timid look on her face, she usually just wants me to hand her another mag :-) Hope you like the video... p.s. While you're there, I have the first video that's the companion video on the same site, check it out. Everything but the box
  6. Got mine in the mail yesterday, Awesome! these look in pristine condition. Thanks Blaine, Tony
  7. Hey Darryl No, that musta been some other handsome guy :-) I live in S.C. and this was at a Dept. of Natural Resource range. I did buy one of those BRP Thompson's a few years back and it came from Maryland.
  8. I took it to the range but there were only 2 guys there and a girl, so no big crowds yet. I did manage to shoot a little video. The 2 guys at the begining had never shot a machinegun before, so they each ran a mag through my AC556. Kinda strange that neither was interested in doing a mag dump. I shot the videos of myself and the Thompson using a tripod so No, the cameraman was not standing down range. I only had 25 rnds loaded in each mag. Enjoy
  9. Well, after an out of state double back to back transfer and some lost and re-submitted paperwork, my transfer was finally approved :-) Whoo Hoo! I purchased this gun on June 15th last year and Finally got to bring her home Saturday night. A West Hurley M1A1 with the internals replaced with USGI parts. A ribbed barrel and cuts compensator. I added a modified Crosby drum for the icing on the gangster cake. Took it out yesterday and ran 200 flawless rounds through it. I'm extremely happy with my purchase. http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm187/tinaday50/Tommygun001.jpg http://i296.photobucket.com/albums/mm187/tinaday50/Thomp_3.jpg
  10. I have plenty of mags at the moment... Either cash/check/money order to-> Blaine Clark PO Box 791, Gold Hill Oregon 97525-0791 or "discreet" PPal to z3bigdaddyauctions@gmail.com. These are mainly from The Brit that I bought several years ago and sorted out what I wanted. I also have spare date mags and even a shot mag that I would be willing to sell... Blaine aka Z3BigDaddy Money for 2 will go out tomorrow. Thanks, Base-Rigger
  11. Dang! I wish I would've had you for a teacher when I was in school. Great video.
  12. Z3Big Daddy, Do you still have any nice 20 rounders for $15.00 shipped each? I'm interested in 2.
  13. Uh Oh! I just added a reply but I added it to the old link about drum conversions instead of here in this new thread. Now the old drum thread just appeared at the top of the page. I'll copy my reply and paste it here. The one in my video at the top of this page is done with a Crosby Repro drum that I paid $175.00 for. The first thing that I did was notch out the original rail hangers on the front and back so the drum would slide up into the receiver as far as possible. The second thing was to cut exactly 1/4" off the top end of a stick mag and weld it to the drum to give the rounds the extra height that they need for smooth feeding. The last thing I did was add the hanger that was cut from a stick mag to the back. You need to do this last because you need to slide the hanger into the stick mag hanger slot till it clicks and locks into place and then slide the drum into the receiver and while looking through the ejection port, line it up exactly how ya want it. Up, down, left or right and then mark where the hanger is on the drum. That's the position that it needs to be welded to the drum. Be careful not to have too much meat on the hanger above the latch hole. When I first welded the hanger to the drum and inserted it, the hanger hit the little disconnector thing that the stick mags hit and it resulted in me having a semi only gun. It kept resetting the diconnector after each round. I had to cut it back off and remove about half an inch above the hole. Sorry if this makes no sense but I see it in my head perfectly. Mine looks just like the above posted photos. Good luck
