that's nickel plating for sure, you can tell that by the yellow shine in the plating, chrome will have a blue shine,
they are fresh now, but will get dull in no time
-
without a picture is hard to tell, but it seems that this would be a pretty messed up POS ,prob with an m1 bolt in it, there is a special place reserved in Hell for people that create that kind of things,
BTW, welkom on the board
-
don't believe that this is a reweld, or he did a great job on the sides and messed up at the corner, but like others said, the inside will tell you for 100% if it was welded
-
what would be a more or less correct value these days for following canvas pouches , ALL originals
-L-drum
-30rd x 3
-20rd x 5
these have been offered to me by someone from who I bought a 1928a1 savage yesterday, but I haven't got a clue what would be a fair price, picture doesn't show the 30 rd x3
BTW, the person in question has about one of the nicest M3 greaseguns I have ever seen

very very nice entry welkom
-
THANKS, this helps me alot

wood is european 3/8 plywood, and yes the quality is indeed much better than what I see at Menards,

I'm getting bored of my own questions, but here is another one, Can someone give me the dimensions of the metal spare parts box? (to provide room in my FBI case)
thanks

since it seems that nobody makes FBI cases anymore, I started to make one myself, but I also have been looking for black leather corner protectors and I can't find any of them on the net.
I there someone here that can help me out on this one
thanks

of the 12 1928A1 's that I hold in my hand 2 days ago, about 2-3 had this colouring, they were all actuators without knurling, it has to do with the hardness of the material/bluiing temparature,

saw a strange beast today, an AO 4x xxx serial with a colt rounded fins profile barrel, barrel was the original barrel that came with the gun out of the factory, bluiing of the barrel was different and had developed a brown patine ,rest of the gun was in very good original condition, looked to me as they installed an colt barrel that they had in inventory. Gun had Britisch markings, can't show a picture but will be able in a few months or so ( because I bought the damn thing)
this probably happened numerous times, but it was the first one I saw myself

it took me 4 hours to checker mine, lucky that I'm not a 300 dollar/hour lawyer, the way I see it, it's a skill that takes a lot of time to develop if you are talented, most of us will just make something that looks like it from a far away distance. I've always been OK with these kind of things, but I've seen better from skilled people and a lot worse from others,

I really wouldn't know Dan, but I will not be the one trying, will have alot of trouble when they find it out at the Austrian border, I gues the only way to get it will be by demilling it and get papers to import it, and that would also be a problem since Belgium officially only accept demils done in Liege, if Serbia was EU country, it would be alot easier, BTW, he's giving a luger in the sale for free, also without papers I guess
-
bought it for 353 euro
-
got another mail from the owner, price is set at 5000 euro, buyer has to pick it up himself
-
don't have an original no-hole catch,
levers are reserved for someone now,
Thanks

thanks, now I have an idea, I have a picture of the rotor too,but I can't tell that it's nickeled so I asume it's not
-
to be honest Bob, I don't have any idea either what a fait price would be, I know that sarco asks 125 for the fire selector alone, and I based my asking price on that, if my price is too high, just let me know, they should be S marked ,but will only be certain when they get here

anyone interested in a nice set of 1928 knurled (not checkered colt, but savage) safety and fire selectors. I have located a nice set, wich I'll receive in a week or so, can be shipped from in the USA ,as I will land in Chicago in 2 weeks, pictures will follow. Ask 220 dollar ,shipping incl

I don't think it's registered, wouldn't know about their laws, but it would be hard to import, Serbia still isn't in the European Union, if the seller can't register it, I can't import it in Belgium as a live weapon(for the moment), import of automatic weapons is still possible here, but getting more and more difficult, registering an unregistered weapon is not possible anymore since a year or 2-3, I do own a gun (G3) that was confiscated over there by the Brits during the war, but that's another story.

yep, that's easy, but I only want to deal with people who can agree on a price, have been there before, ...waiting for offers..blablabla, and at the end they made less than what I wanted to pay for it in the first place. A seller should notice when they can sell at a very fair price
