Only "fan" (slamfire) from the hip for better control. Not from the shoulder like the idiots on 'youtube' good way to hurt yourself.
When you tell the a friend that a model 97 or 12 have no disconnect and they ask with a puzzled look"what does that mean?". You "fan" the magazine and the grin on yours and their face would cut off the top of your heads if it didn't stop at your ears.
Remember "fanning" is only for up "close and personal". Doing it right is a whole lot of fun. Learn the right hold to fire from the hip for the best control.

Wow that's great keeping it in the family.

Three Thompson with 100 rounders these guys were badAs huh
-
Can't tell about George Tobias' Thompson but the British Corporals looks to be a wooden prop gun. Lot of those in the movie, with Vickers guns mocked up to look like M1919s.
Chopchop that is a nice statue of Saunders you did a really great job.

What I find interesting is the M1928A1 Thompson has a stamped rear sight and fifty round drum in October 1943. Oh the soldier is wearing a rifle cartridge belt.
I don't know if this pic has been posted before if it has forgive me.

Hate to be a pain but M40A1 is 106mm not 90mm
Kinda OT, but here's a short video that shows the US M40A1 90mm recoiless rifle in Greek service. You can see the "spotter" rifle mounted just above the barrel. It fired the special .50 M8C spotter round, a low velocity tracer projectile that matched the range and trajectory of the 90mm. The gunner had two triggers, on for the spotter rifle, another for the 90mm. The theory was that you aimed and then confirmed that you were on target with the spotter before firing the 90mm.

Those RPBs are really interesting looking guns for sure. Did not RPB make MAC10s at one time. Really makes you wonder what is inside one of these guns.

Check out this site they used both the the Reising M55 and Thompsons with what look like M1A1 Carbine stocks in the U571 movie.

I can understand the "hellibut" thing. But if you have to shoot it shoot it do it in 45ACP once and see how it shoots then put it away. It's not the type of pistol you fire box after box of ammo through even in 380 or 22.
I guess it'd be for the same reason I go to Long John Silvers.........just for the hellibut .
The gun only fills a display nitch for a collector and runs north of $600 . A lot for something you just look at . For a little extra , you could pop a few lower pressure rounds through it safely. I was also thinking that if the insert was offset in it's bbl drilling and indexed when installed , the offset of center firing pin would aid in it's smooth bbl OK from the feds.
Kinda like the M9 2.36 Bazooka on the wall behind me. My version of a $3,000 Picasso or Rembrandt . Serves no real purpose but to give me joy . Funny thing is I could sell it in a heartbeat for a lot more to several other art collectors I know . ( Down boys , it's not for sale now. )

The Liberator pistol is only for a small group of people. Why buy a Liberator 380 when you can buy a 380 semi-auto.
