This is a soldier of the Russian army in the Donbass. Most likely the events of 2014-2015. Maybe it's 2016. Most likely this is a weapon that has been taken out of combat. a fairly large number of Thompsons were stored in the warehouses of Ukraine and this weapon was deactivated in the early 2000s and went on free sale. but in Ukraine, Thompsons were equipped exclusively with box magazines for 20 rounds. Disc stores were purchased by Ukrainian collectors in Europe and a small number in the north of the European part of Russia. So in the photo you can see a typical Russian marauder who robbed a Ukrainian collector. IMHO.

Google translator did not translate correctly. this should be understood as an identity card of a Red Army soldier. As for the pouch from Thompson's Russian manual, I've never seen it. Magazines for 20, 30 and 50 rounds were supplied to the USSR. But I saw pouches only 5x20 for M3. as far as I understand, the Russian instruction was made by translating and compiling two American instructions, and the photos were simply copied without taking into account the real set of supplies.

the book is undeniably beautiful! I am eternally grateful to Tracy for his work and my American friend who helped me get my copy. I think it's very good that the circulation is sold out. looking forward to The Ultimate Thompson Book 2 (TUTB2). I think Tracy has enough information to publish a second edition.
