  1. Yeah! I love it when people ask me what kind of gas mileage I get in my truck? I just laugh. I have a jeep wrangler to put around in.
  2. Went through your photos, damn man, your sick and not stuck on one brand. Nice truck too. Love the GT500 as well. It will be interesting to see which key fob to the Hellcat you give your son when he stars driving, LOL! I'd literally give my left nut for that Hellcat, I don't need anymore kids, we've finally got all ours out of the house. The wife's okay with my gun addiction, but hates it when I spend money on my truck (too bad for her). Keep the Hellcat out of the ditches, it's going to go up in value like the Ford GT did, I believe.
  3. Hey Huggytree, nice Hellcat, perfect color! Is it yours?
  4. Been doing some research and I believe I'll get some dummy cartridges and make sure that my bolt will strip them out of the mag without any issues before heading to the range, I don't want to experience an OOB discharge? There's no issues with my sear, so it shouldn't trip without pulling the trigger, but I wanna be on the safe side. Any thoughts welcomed.
  5. I use the high temp shooters grease as well, and clean the crap out of it when done shooting. I reapply the grease before I shoot the gun next time and only leave a light film between shoots for protection.
  6. Looks like greasing the bolt might help out, I'd try that before bending the lips on the mag.
  7. Yes I did on occasion, my cure was simple: 1) High Temp Gun Grease used liberally instead of oil. 2) Made sure the mag springs were well oiled. Runs like a top now. I have an older Kahr from the 90s.
  8. That's weird, mines tight as a turtles ass with no end play, no side to side and a hair up and down, but I guess that's just enough for the trigger rocking to still work on mine. I got lucky I guess. I had already had the firing pin pilot and detent mod done to achieve the same thing then discovered this by accident.
  9. I happened across the link from another link from here, it was a WWII training video of how the Thompson operated and the guy in the video was removing the upper from the lower and I noticed he just rocked the trigger moving the trigger group up and down when the frame latch got to that point to free it. I tried it and it works like a charm with a little practice.
  10. Some of you probably already know this, but a lot of us didn't. When removing the lower from the upper receiver all you need to do is press the frame latch button, slide till it stops, then rock the trigger and pull forward. The two come apart with ease with a little practice. I noticed this how they did it in an old training video posted here under the FA section.
  11. Sorry for the confusion, I used my own springs and not the ez-springs. It's still takes some effort to pull back, just not as much. We'll see if it was to much taken off when I take it to the range next time. New springs run 5 bucks or so each, so if I have to go back to original springs no big deal. Figured it's worth a try.
  12. Added a new pony to the stable, picked this jewel up for only $575, (internet picture) Colt Commander 45, 70 series. Used, but looks to have been never been shot in mint condition with box and papers. Will be interesting to see where the values go when/if Colt goes under?
  13. I have the steel receiver, so I counted the coils on the ez-set and found it to be about 20 coils or so shorter than my gorilla springs. I clipped about ten or so off mine, left the firing pen spring alone then made a buffer pad, a lot easier to cock, but need to test it to see if it's going to cycle now, will let ya'll know if this works. Worst case scenario I'll be ordering new springs.
  14. Stupidity, While shooting it over the weekend it suddenly stopped firing at one point, I checked to make sure there wasn't a live round in the chamber and had just assumed my son (last one shooting it) had tripped the sear without a contact. I thought I herd a click when it misfired. Sure enough, the trigger just needed to be reset and all is well. I dry fired it and that fixed the problem. Lesson learned: After making sure the chamber is clear, make sure the sear is tripped.
  15. Thanks for all the help, got it fixed, and yes I know about not removing the pivot plate while the gun is assembled, big problems if you do. Appreciate you guys chiming in.
  16. Shot my Tommy Sat and ran fine only now the top receiver won't come apart. I have a m1a1. When you depress the detent in to slide the two apart it's like a spring has come loose inside the receiver and it won't slide apart. The bottom receiver is under spring tension and wont go past the first part were you have to put the screw driver in and depress the detent in again to get it apart. Anybody got any suggestions on what's going on?
  17. If you notice one of my sons has a cast on, he broke his foot during the last 4 miles of the Crucible and had to march out the last 4 miles on a broken foot. he didn't say anything for fear of being put back and when the island Company Commander asked him about it afterwards he called him a "bad ass" for pushing through, needless to say, it made his day. These young men are my heroes!
  18. The Marines are home, update with photos. So very proud of these young men.
  19. Why put that kind of money in just a wall hanger, sorta like wiping your butt before you poop, doesn't make sense?
