  2. Interesting topic in this thread on Swedish K tube gun prices while I agree some are overpriced ( at the moment) I would even use the term Insane as Got Uzi mentions

    But……….

when I bought my Wilson L tube Swedish K NFA item I was told by a multitude of people I was paying too much at……….12k

and maybe I was at the Time but my Mantra on a gun I want is “ I didn’t pay too much, I just bought early”

there is not a gun I bought from Ruben that I paid a premium for that has not passed that Initial purchase price in time.

    From David’s Description:

    Taiwanese Crosby L-Drums:

Around 2006, a Taiwanese company was contracted by an American company to reproduce L-Drums, and about 200 were produced and sold initially. The drums worked well, and were marked in the same manner as the World War II Crosby drums. The drums are blued, and their markings appear slightly less crisp and deep when compared to original Crosby drums. After some controversy regarding the markings, subsequent drum markings were changed, an example of which I do not have currently. The drum in the picture below arrived well-oiled, inside two plastic bags, packaged in the fiber-board box pictured. Apparently these drums were not internally greased at the factory, which is another characteristic which may aid in identification.

  4. AZ,

My Winchester has original blued finish and so has most lend lease guns that I have seen photo's of.

I believe these guns were imported by dealers and upon return were never in custody of the US govt. Therefore I believe your gun was civilian parkerized.

If your gun had a hand stamped A2 and converted to fast /slow, then it may have been done by the US military.

My gun looks like it sat in a warehouse in England.

Perhaps your gun saw field use by the Home Guard and had much finish wear and perhaps worn rifling. That would explain everything.

    Thanks Jim,

    appreciate the follow up

    Nick

  5. AZ,

Should be no problem installing original wood.

I tend to think someone liked the looks of the A2 better than the 1918, so they switched stocks, had it parkerized, and replaced the barrel.

I did the same thing with my OOW semi BAR. I removed the beautiful walnut stock and installed a Korean era composite stock.

If I decide to sell it, I'll switch back.

My Winchester is also a lend lease and retained the semi/full feature.

Since you gun is still semi/full its doubtful the buffer was messed with.

    Jim C

    Jim,

Exactly what I was looking for, Thanks!

Annihilator: Thanks for the input also appreciate it!

  6. My recently acquired C&R Winchester Lens Lease

British Proofed M1918 B.A.R. Is still in original Semi/Auto

    Configuration

it arrived with A2 furniture including A2 Tripod,

foregrip, & Firestone composite buttstock it also has a Korean War 1953 dated HSA barrel installed it also arrived with an original set of M1918 wooden Furniture foregrip and stock

Question: can the original furniture, buttstock & foregrip be installed with no issues being that it is not an original barrel

And any buttstock issue with possibly a buffer conflict?

    Thanks in Advance

  7. So I am going to shoot my C&R PPSH-41 this weekend for the first time I have 3 drums, 2 came with the gun 1 I bought separately

All lock in gun & fit, however 2 of the drums can only be turned 3 winding clicks and stop, 1 drum goes 8 clicks as demonstrated on you tube videos describing correct function & tension....

So are the 2 broken or sprung? Can they be adjusted?

will they function and unload a 71 round drum with only 3 clicks?

or does it make sense to just replace them?

    Thanks In Advance Everybody!
