Thanks for the replies. I would vote up your replies but it seems I have met my quota for the day.

One other question.
I reload for my other .45's
Anyone have a favorite recipe that they might wish to share?
Thanks, I have read that others like the Winchester as well. I an not a huge fan of White box but maybe the .45 is better than the 9mm.

Hi, I'm Scott.
I picked up a Thompson T1B14 (Auto Ordnance) this week in a trade.
I have wanted one since I was a kid watching Sgt. Chip Sanders on Combat.
Hopefully you folks will not mind a few rookie questions.
I want to polish the innards a bit and wonder if anyone has a few tips on the best parts to polish? (and what should be left alone.)
Any brand of ammo work best for you?
I know that the book says no steel but wonder if Aluminum is ok?I have seen a lot of talk about replacement springs and I am wondering what the current best practice is? Does anyone currently sell the nylon buffer or does someone have a template for making my own? What is the thickness?
Thanks for any input you may be able to provide.
Hi, new here so hopefully I am not beating a dead horse.

Mine is getting polished as we speak. A friend of mine is a master.
