  1. That would had been interesting to see how long the depot used it for.  I know guys from the guard in the early to mid 1990's that said they still had M3 Grease Gun's in the arms room.  Talking some of the old timers from the few Depots and proving grounfa I worked at the WW2 and Korean Civilian Guard force was entertaining during the 50/60/70's.  The guys used to drink beer, smoke cigarettes  and play cards on night shift.  I was told they occasionally would go rabbit hunting on shift also along with other hijinks.  It is a lot more formal now in reguards to weapons, but I could see a Reising being issued there for a long time.

No that sounds correct if I’m understanding you correctly.

Eform 4’s are currently only for dealers to other entities, a non dealer entity can’t use a eform 4 yet even if it would be going to a dealer.

That will be coming at some point in the future but until then we’re stuck with paper.

This is probably it.  He did a tranfer a year or so ago  from a dealer to a individual over eforms with SS kiosk.  This is from a individual to him then to me, he is a relatively new SOT, so probably still learning the idiosyncrasies of all this stuff.

Thanks for clarification of this matter.

  3. I went today start my purchase  of a out of state M/G and the dealer told me some funny news from the ATF.

He said he was advised by the ATF all Form 4 M/G's ( mine being a out of state individual to him then to me)had to go the paper route and not eforms.  In addition they wanted papered finger print card and not etf files.

He was going to double check with them again on this issue,  but he was confused as hell due to the "new", policy.

I did it for my Reising M50, & my M76/45 Stemple.

I got 8, or 9 pages of heavily redacted info on the Reising.

There was some good info, as I found out it spent WW2 in Chambersburg, PA, with the "Chief of Guards", whoever that was.

The Stemple, not much info, but I did get it's "born on" date.

I did this in the early 2000's.

What if it was the cilvian guard force at Letterkenny depot

There's this one listed on GunSpot for $20K negotiable

So the guy on GB is asking $4.75K for a caliber conversion of unknown provenance and reliability.  That seems a bit steep to me.

I dug out my reference material and looked at possible conversions for the MAS and I have to say whoever picked .380 did their homework.  Working within the cartridge length and pressure limits of the 7.65 Longue I could find only 3 candidates among commonly available cartridges: .32ACP, .380ACP and 9x18 Makarov.  The .32 ACP is anemic at best.  The Makarov may provide better performance than the .380 but considering the cost difference probably not worth it.

So a pretty good idea but $4.75K??

I definitely never seen them go for 20k.  Seem to hover around 10k , last one I saw on GB was 9k as I recall.

A 9mm Makarov would definitely peak my interest if it was a easy conversion.

I am purchasing a Wilson Tube MP-40, so my available cash has significantly decreased.  Though, honestly I am not to keen on actual purchase , it is just underpriced so hard to pass up.

  6. I had Gary trouble shoot my RR lower that people locally couldn't get working right and John Andrewski  finished up my bare  Medea M3A1 shell to a working gun.

Put a bid on Lewis Gun from Morphies see how it gose.

  7. Thinking about getting  a LMG of some flavor after firing a Lewis gun recently ( missed my m240 days).  I figure about a 30k budget and would prefer something that is easy to maintain for a low IQ person like myself.

There is a reasonably priced type 96 on G/B I think, are the 7.62x39 conversions viable??
