  1. Cupheag if you are still looking 1 found 1 for you . Email me Mike
  2. I am looking for anything related to the BM59 . If you have any pictures of any rare items ,magazine articles that you wouln't mind sharing please email me . If you have any information on magazine articles that have articles ,please email me with the magazine and month or issues and I will try to locate one. I am trying to locate anything I can find related to the BM59/62/69 etc . I have the guns magazine article, a SAR article about the BM59SL /E model ,the Beretta book by Wilson, a few pics courtesy of MRJ, and others on this site in a note book ,but I am always looking for more information on these. Thanks ...........Mike
  3. RDS does SARCO have a price list for these parts ,or do you just call and tell them what you are looking for and they make up a price ? Thanks ....Mike
  4. I do not have any plans or prints , but I have a friend in Canada that did this and I do have some pictures . Email me and I will send you a copy of what I have . His conversion uses M14 mags .
  5. Vic would you mind asking what method that the Beretta employed when they converted M1 garand receivers to BM59's for their customers . Some say precision grinding or machining, we all know how hard a M1 Receiver is , I was wondering how Beretta did this back then ? It would help ,there are a few folks here that would like to modify a M1 receiver to a BM 59 . Thanks ......Mike
  6. Well Ben , I have been tempted several times ,but only bought 2 . The '62's seem to be a little more difficult for me to pass on when I see one for a decent price . I guess the going price has went up now that Reese is out of the rifles ? If reasonably priced I can't see why you shouldn't buy it .........Then there is the wife ........... Let us know how it turns out ?
  7. I have another serial # to add to the list . BM62 marked P Beretta made in Italy with a serial # 002695 .It did not have the original stock or buttpad . Sorry I did not see whether it was a Berben or Benet or SA import .
  8. It has been done . Not by me, but I am seeking someone to machine my receiver . From what I understand about this ,the M1 receiver is very hard and not easily machined . You either have to use( carbide end mills ?) or anneal the receiver to the point at which it is machinable and then reheat treat the receiver . Someone please feel free to jump in and correct me if I have something wrong here. Let me say that I have "O" machine skills and am merely repeating what I have been told by others that have performed this task . I know one person that did this with a dremmel tool and went slow and used precision grinding to remove the metal . I would like to attemp this ,but I would rather have some help from someone who knows what they are doing ! Best of luck!
  9. Mike ,I was there would have liked to meet up with you like we had planned before . I wish I would have seen this reply before now . There is always another time !
  10. I had heard all about Knob Creek by MRJ and a few others , it looks as if this is my time to get to go . I heard the gunshow was the best , so I hope to be there bright and early on Friday . I am hoping to make the JAG show as well on the way up ,I heard that it was good also . Anyone here going to be there ? Hope to see you there ! Mike
  11. Ben welcome to the BM62 club ! The Bm59 is a small group of folks but those of us that have 'em sure do love 'em . I had no idea that you had picked one up . Congratulations !
  12. All I can say is WOW ! That is some sexy lumber on that 62!
  13. MRJ, Mine are both finger-grooved stocks with what kinda looks like a black shotgun looking rubber buttpad. Neither of mine are cut for the bipod on the gas cylinder . Both had unvented muzzle devices . I believe the pins on mine are solid (8mm) I guess , I never measured them . 1 came with a 20 rd mag and the other had a 10 rd mag. 1 is in the 00235X , and the other is 00246X Hope this helps in the research ! Mike
  14. I have a question ,a little off topic but when were the Berben BM62's imported ?
  15. MRJ, I recently handled a BM62 at a gunshow .It was a Berben import BM62 serial #001615. I hope this aids in your research . I will continue to log Beretta made BM 's that I find . I like you have heard the "Less than 3,000 imported " rumor for years .
  16. Thanks fellas ! I hate to hear about Andy ,I only bought 1 part from him, but hoped to do more business in the future and now this bad news about Ebay and getting bounced ........ Please keep me in mind if you sell something or stumble into something that is surplus to your needs ? Mike
  17. I was just wondering if anyone has any new sightings of BM59/62 's any great parts finds or just anything new to discuss BM59 ? I apoligize for being out of pocket for awhile my wife just had our first child 2 weeks ago !Any of you fellas out there with children know how the first couple weeks can be a rough going ! I hadn't seen any new postings in awhile and just wanted to see if anything new was going on in the BM59 world? My only recent acqusitions were a BM59 marked elevation pinion that came via trade and a part for a Alpine stock that I bought on ebay . I hope all is well for you all . Mike
  18. That sounds fair enough . I have also been collecting Italian made Garand parts for just such a project! I am not sure if a Breda or a Beretta receiver will turn up in my hands , so I have been hording parts for both . I have had difficulty locating a Breda elevation pinion . Thanks for the price information ,sounds fair enough now I just have to locate someone ,or give it a go on my own . Mike
  19. MRJ , I know that you have had this task done, what does a M1 to BM59 receiver modification run cost wise ? Just looking for a ball park # or would one be better of just picking up another BM59 and ditching the whole receiver idea and keeping the kit as spares ? Sorry , I am just biteing at the bit to have another ....... http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif Mike
  20. Is there anyone doing these ? I know that there were some folks converting the M1 to take M14 mags ,but how about the conversion to the SL/SE BM59 model ? I have a kit and everything I need minus the receiver ,just need to find a gunsmith that performs this task . There was talk about SARCO making some receivers any word on these yet ? I know that we are a small group compared to the M1A/ M1 garand crowd ,so by all means do tell ? Thanks in advance ........ Mike
  21. You are most correct ! I check this out and it is true a 62 is in fact different ,as RDS pointed out . The holes do line up different . Sorry to misguide you , my heart was in the right place http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/banghead.gif
  22. cuphead Reese has a couple BM62 breaks listed on their site now . You could always drill your own holes ? Hope this helps ..... Mike
  23. I meant to put this under cuphead's post . http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/banghead.gif sorry !
  24. I was just wondering if anyone here has purchased anything for the guy in Italy that is selling on Ebay ? I was thinking about buying a couple items. Thanks in advance ! Anyone out there doing conversions on M1 receivers ? I heard that SARCO was going to be making some but then nothing . Mike
