  1. Someone on here mentioned that they purchased some mags from this vendor (Not me). I did try to contact this person to no avail about a possible purchase, but he never contacted me back . Hope this helps! Mike
  2. James mine measures out at 19 7/16 " from top to bottom . I apoligize,I totally forgot about measuring the rod until your latest reply . Hope this helps .... Mike
  3. If anyone bought any of the new rubber buttplates and needs the cover for the trap door email me . mikebaker1129@aol.com
  4. The one that I purchased is not proofed or serial numbered , so I guess it would be for a AR70 ,and not a true BM59 bayonet. It fits and functions just fine on a BM59 and the only difference is that it is not marked and they are selling them as BM59 at BM59 bayonet prices not AR70 prices. According to Colleen at Reese the black followers were made by Beretta, but I remain skeptical about that. Why would Beretta make a indestructible magazine and chrome plate the follower and then procede to make one out of plastic ? I ask myself this and I cannot come up with a good answer. Hope this helps ....
  5. I thought maybee it was another accessory, that I was unaware of until now. every once in awhile something turns up that has been somewhat scarce like the BM59 blank firing adapters and a couple years ago the slings were somewhat difficult to find . Now the slings are everywhere even Gunparts has them !
  6. There is a listing on gunbroker . BOX LID for BM59 is the description ,I have never seen or heard of this before . Anyone know what this is ? Art, MRJ ?
  7. Walt, I just sold a stock like that for $260 .
  8. Walt what kind of prices have you been seeing for BM59 Gas cylinders ? I have not noticed any forsale lately on Gunbroker . Mike
  9. I do not think that you are out of touch. I agree with you. I only see a couple nice extra stocks with buttplates and a Beretta heel marked receiver, other than that it just looks like a clean BM59.
  10. Please send or post pics of the E2 stock when completed .
  11. I was not able to get in touch with either vendor about the magazines or the parts.
  12. Very nice looking rifle ! The scout is no slouch either . Most BM59 parts are a direct replacement for the BM69 ,with a few exceptions . The rubber buttpad on the 69 is different, stock is not inletted for the full auto parts, there is no winter trigger, faux break is the same as a 62, the 69 has no stripper clip guide, and the gas cylinder does not have the spindle valve and grenade site.If I left something out someone please correct me . Pretty much everthing else is interchangeable with the BM59. Reese Surplus is a good source for parts .
  13. The link to the pics worked for me ! Very nice work on that stock . How long did that take(stock) ?
  14. Pretty much there are no receivers out there that I know of, so your option is going to be,converting a M1 receiver.Yes, it is alot of work and not a inexpensive. Look to pay $400-500 to have a M1 receiver converted in to a BM59.Any in spec USGI receiver will work, I used a couple SA receivers ,just because that is what I had on hand. The SARCO kits are for the E model ,which are basically M1 garands converted to use 20 rd mags and are 1/2 short on the barrel ,op rod, stock and rear handguard. Due to the E's being different from a standard BM59 you will not have the stock and acessories options you would have if you built a BM59 with the standard BM59 barrel,op rod and gas system. For example your E would not fit and work in a folding stock with out modifications,or a Nigerian stock, or a standard BM59 stock would not work for that matter, the standard muzzle attachments would not work either, the good news is that Reese sells some modified for the garand that you could use on your E build. I am not trying to talk you out of the build, I built up a E and a Nigerian, both converted from M1 receivers. I just want you to completely understand the differences of the E's from the other models. I would not want you having spent $500 on a nice folding stock for your build to only find out in the ens that it will not work on your rifle . If you want to see some pics of my conversions send me a email and I will pass along some pics . By the way I would still like to see some pics of your Nigerian stock . mikebaker1129@aol.com
  15. Someone here was looking for a gas cylinder ,there is on on GB being sold by Reese right now . Hope this helps !
  16. I am sure that it is possible and I am sure SAGE will modify a stock upon request for a price . I had never really thought about it ,until you mentioned it . Sounds like a pretty good idea, but expensive no doubt. Are you thinking about giving it a try Mike ?
  17. What parts does he have to offer ? Have you purchased from this fella before ? Thanks ,I have never heard of either seller, but this good be a viable source for BM59 stuff. Thanks for sharing !
  18. Walt , I have a Silma marked barrel also purchased from Reese and it measures 18 3/4" from the receiver to the muzzle. This barrel is too long for installation of my BM62 faux break by about 1/8". It will not be a problem much longer , I am having it chopped to 16 1/2 "and recrowned . Which breal are you calling the cut down tricomp ? Are you referring to the one that is the last 4" of a tricomp ? This barrel is a bit longer than the one on my BM62,which I can install any of the breaks on with no issues at all it is 17" long. Hope this helps ....
  19. As low a possible on the stock , but $450-500 for a original with the plastic grip and the lower brace. The Reese Repro stocks go for $200-300. Congrats on the sling !
  20. Walt what type of barrel do you need the threads measured on ? I would be happy to check mine and measure for you , I just need to know which one .What are the markings on your barrel ? Thanks...Mike
  21. You can email me the pics at:mikebaker1129@aol.com I would love to see that stock , I assume you carved it out yourself ? How long did it take you?
  22. I guess I will jump in here. Your stock sold by Reese surplus sold for $200-250 and I would value it in the same price range today. Your rifle was built by Golden State arms and well to be honest, they have their place in the market, but they are not in my opinion on par with a real Beretta or Springfield Armory rifle I would value the rifle at $500-600 and + the $250 for the stock, so between$750-800 .This is only my opinion. There is one very similar on gunbroker right now. Hope this helps
  23. Hello , my name is Mike Baker and I am an addict ! Welcome to the club, you are in good company here. I would be interested in seeing some pictures of your work on your Mark 4 stock .
  24. James I will measure mine soon just so you have another measurement to go by. It could be the tab on your rod also. Does the rifle malfunction with both op rods or just one ? By the way how is your barrel marked ?
  25. On my Nigerian the piston on the op rod almost comes out the gas cylinder shelf . It is almost as if my op rod is a little short in length. I purchased the op rod and and barrel from Reese, gas cylinder was new in the wrap.Mine functions just fine. This might be something you want to take a look at as well ? You op rod could be coming out and jamming the bolt and coming loose. Do you have to install the op rod in the gas cylinder every time this happens ? Mike
