Found a small stash of Grease gun mags while cleaning my gun room. They're not perfect but all have good feed lips and should function fine. Email is best point of contact bmarvin35@gmail.com

Beautiful pistol. Letter, no letter, I would love to bring that one home.
I concur but I won't take a chance without an ATF letter
A letter exempting it from NFA would be great. But if no letter, couldn't an individual just register it as SBR?
I'm not sure if you can "make" a SBR out of an original firearm or if it needs to be a new creation

I emailed the dealer that has the pistol that references the letter. He said that he will obtain a copy from his contact at the ATF
If/when I get it, I'll post it here

I spoke with a C&R pistol dealer at Tulsa last year who told me the same thing about a pending letter and ruling. . . but as of yet, nothing published. It wouldn't surprise me and they need to be included. I too will be shopping for one once they are in.
Strange that the posts mention the letter was dated 10/16 and 3 years later it can't be found
-
I checked the most recent ATF guide and didn't see it there either
This thread https://forums.gunboards.com/showthread.php?998530-Star-MB-NFA mentions the letter
This auction https://www.gunbroker.com/item/821202805 references the same letter
I'm tempted to call/email the ATF . I'd like to pick one up for my collection but only if it's legal

I've read that the ATF removed the Star MB stocked pistols from the NFA
Supposedly they issued ATF letter 907010:BAH 3311/304603 dated 10-3-16
I've been unable to find the actual letter
Does anyone here have a copy or a direct link to it?
Thanks

I think IF there's a national ban on magazines over 10 rounds that you will be able to register what you own by a certain date and just not be allowed to obtain any more. I also think non compliance will be staggeringly high

Morphy also comes to your house and picks up and they offer discounts on their sellers premium based on rarity of the item(s) being sold and you can set a reserve(again depending on the rarity of the item)
-
There's a rare MP40 that will be offered at Morphy's this fall.
Is it an MP40/1 ??
It's a dual mag MP40. I believe it's one of two in the registry

Still looks good. That came from Jack Dyer many years ago. He got it out of Florida if I remember correctly
-
He was a great guy. Bought a ton of 28 parts kits from him over the years . He'll be missed

I always pay "future retail" for a great condition item and nice seller. The value will catch up to you quick. Main thing to make sure, at that price, is that the barrel is original. I would offer $4000 if you really want it. No need for him to tack on the extra $200.
Eric
How can I tell that the barrel is original. It's stamped H P he said.
has a lot of photos and information. Also the wear patterns should match
-
Nice looking 1911 and it appears correct to me. I'd have no problem buying it for $4200.
-
The 27AC seems to have sold cheap at $28,000.
The other colts varied from $30-$65,000

I still have a box of empty brass shells on this board if you're interested

Just in case anyone is wondering why this is posted on the Thompson board, the revolver has the "JTT" marking for John Taliaferro Thompson, since he was the Inspector of Pistols for the U.S. Army from 1900 to 1902. This was, of course, prior to his name becoming associated with the submachine gun that bears his name.
