  1. How about if we meet at the Osseo American Legion 240 4th Ave SE, Osseo,MN {just off Cty Rd 81} at 11 AM, Jan 23, 2016. I will find a table for us. They serve food if interested. There is a military gun show that day at the Brooklyn Park Armory that you could visit before or after our mtg. I hope several can attend. Please inform all Thompson people you know. Many will recognize me from gun shows past, Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy and safe New Year.

  2. Because of the favorable response: How about if I find a location in the Osseo area on JAN 16 Sat or JAN 23, Sat where we could have a private room or area? Noon might be a good time so not to interfere with evening family time. If someone has a better idea for location or time please post it. We could find a spot where lunch is served if anyone wants. Agenda might include making a mailing notification list, possible shoot, possible joint exhibit at a show, just gathering periodically to talk Thompson talk.,ect. Your thoughts?

  3. I am a MN resident, I do not have a FFL or SOT. I have a Curio & Relic license. Question: Do I need ATFE approval to bring a C&R machinegun into South Dakota? Question: Can I bring a silencer into South Dakota? If the answer is "yes" , is my registration papers, Forms 3 enough? I was a class 3 when I acquired the mg's. Thanks for any advice I have not traveled with class 3 in many years.

  4. Under BATF's rule of "once a machinegun, always a machinegun" how can a Colt 1927 ever be a SBR? It would seem to me that a court challenge to ATF's determination that a 27 regestered as a SBR cannot be changed on the Form 3 or 4 to that of machinegun would not be sustained. Following the ATF on this one, if a Colt 1921A could be converted to a 1927SBR why not a M2 Carbine to M1 by removing the M2 parts? or a M16 to AR15 by removing the full-auto parts? Another question===would ATF allow a transfer of a Colt 1927 registered as a SBR to a state that did not allow machineguns?

  5. I bought my 1927AC in the mid 1980's and the one now for sale at $65,000 are the only ones I seem to recall being up for sale. I admit I do not see see all possible "for sale" ads but it seems to me it is a pretty rare model. In my mind when AO devoted separate pages to the 1927 in their brochures and ads that makes it a separate model, at least in my mind. A 1927 is stamped "model of 1927", not "variation of 1927" My 2cents worth.
