  1. Here are pictures of my Madsen Model 50, 9 m/m. Notice that it splits apart with a hinge to open like a book, making it easy to clean and replace parts if needed. From the factory there is a mag loader and a safety button wired into the rear grip in the photo which I have never removed. Also, I have a 3 mag canvas belt pouch. This gun is about as close to new condition as you will find. The leather wrapped swing out butt is in perfect condition. This is probably one of the first items to wear out leaving only a metal butt. You notice there are 2 levers behind the mag. The closest one is the mag release, and the second larger one is a safety so when not depressed prevents the bolt from going forward enough to fire a round. On some guns the lever has been removed so the gun can fire one-handed. The finish on the gun is a black paint. All in all a great little submachinegun.

  2. What do you RKI think of the Madsen Model 50 9m/m SMG ? I have one and I don't recall seeing it mentioned in these forums. Mine is a very reliable gun, light, easy to clean and has overall been a good addition to my collection. Are they somewhat rare as C&R or why are they not more popular?

  3. Here is the invoice and copy of the check to pay for #8074. The sheriff bought the gun in December 1929 and I bought the gun in December 1989. So, they owned it for 60 years and I've owned it for 25 years. The gun is a 1921 AC and is in at least 90% plus condition. What came with the gun is a drum pouch and 50rd drum, mag pouch (4 slots-single flap) and a pistol belt. All 3 web gear are marked

"Mills 1921". I believe a 3 part set is quite hard to find and the Mills 1921 marked pistol belt is quite rare.

3 20rd mags are in excellent condition and 1 18 rd shot shell mag which looks like new also came with the gun, plus a cleaning rod and nickel oiler.

I traded S&W 9m/m pistols plus some ammo for the gun and accessories and I kept copies of the whole transaction. The gun was transferred to me on a form 5. I fired 10 shells thru the gun

(3 in semi and 7 in full automatic) just to make sure it worked. It then became a safe queen and put on display a few times but never again fired. My Colt Thompson display consists of this 1921AC

    plus a 1921A, 1927AC and a 1928 Navy.

  4. I just picked up another H&R Handygun. The form 4 was a 9 month transfer time and that included the form 4 being returned to the transferor for a change/correction on the form 4. This is a .410, 12 1/4" choked barrel. This is the most common Handygun variation. This gun is somewhat unusual because of its excellent condition. The tiger strip appears orangeish but it was the light,as it is a crisp silver. Sorry, but I am not a good photographer. These Handyguns are fun little guns for shooting.

  5. Back in the early 80s I bought a Colt/Armalite AR15 Model 601 that came on the form as a M16. Because the 601 is a C&R and a m16 is not in about year 2006 I sent in request to change the model to a 601. The ATF was extremely helpful and I sent in photos of the guns nomenclature and ATF sent me a letter stating that they had changed their records and how I should refer to it as a Colt/Armalite and use model 601. Now it is a C&R which is a correct designation. Of course the serial # stayed the same.

  6. I recently {9 months ago} purchased a .410 H&R Handygun. The form 4 read Shortbarreled shotgun and Any other weapon underlined . The form 4 to me was filed out exactly as the old one. Just rejected by ATF and they wanted "shortbarreled shotgun" lined out and dated and initialed by the transferee. He has complied and refiled. Now the wait begins again. The ATF is completely correct on this one.

  7. As we celebrate today with family and friends lets pause to give a silent prayer to our men and women serving in the US military and posted around the world often in countries many of us cannot even pronounce. They are protecting our right to enjoy our freedom in relative safety and worship the God of our choice. Let us reflect on that special freedom to own and fire fully automatic weapons which is a freedom enjoyed by few others around the world. Have a safe holiday and may GOD BLESS AMERICA

  8. As the media reports the charges against the VA it tears at my heart that those charges might be accurate. If so we have violated a sacred trust we formed with all those who donned a US military uniform when we promised that if they upon returning home need medical care we would take care of them. If we have failed our brothers and sisters shame on us. I believe we must at all costs reestablish that sacred promise. God Bless America

  9. I also have a Long Branch STEN MK II, with Chinese markings. It is dated 1945 and is in excellent condition. It is 9m/m Luger caliber. I assume it was sold off bY the

canadian government when it was in the pipeline when the war ended and so did the contract for them. One might think that those in Chinese hands might be converted to 30 caliber because of the must have been a vast supply of ammo.
