  1. Unfortunately, I've had to sell my WH M1 - not because I wanted to. I have some spare parts left over if anyone would be interested.

I'm not an expert, but what I think is in the bag is; sear, sear lever, cocking knob, pilot shaft (bolt), rocker, selector, ejector,

disconnector, frame latch, four springs (trigger and latch, I think), and a forward grip marked "m". All marked parts are either "S" or AOC.

I have exactly zero idea as to what these are worth. E-mail me and let me know what you think.

ps. I WILL be buying another Tommy next year if all goes well, as I flat love 'em. (Probably cost $15,000 for a M1 by then.) :(

  2. I was a gun writer for a number of years and got to interview Marie Barrow, Clyde's younger sister, in conjunction with a gun

auction at Butterfield & Butterfield in San Francisco a few years ago. She said, "Clyde was always helping the family, and Bonnie

was a sweet lady, very nice." When asked about B&C's bad habits, she said "I don't know anything about that.

They were always very nice and loving to me." Never could get her to talk about their demise.

Very interesting interview. One of Clyde's stolen 1911 .45 Colts with his name scratched on the slide, went for $175,000.

I put it down rather quickly. His death shirt went for $40,000 - blood and holes included. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/cool.gif

  3. If I sell a NFA weapon to someone out of my state (I have no SOT), I know I have to do a Form 4.

My questin is, do I have to pay the $200 transfer tax when I transfer to the dealer?

I called the ATF in California and the resident agent could not answer my qiestion.

I'm going to call ATF back east Monday for clarification (NFA 202-927-8330).

Interesting that the local agent, who enforces the law, could not answer my question. She gave zero advice

other than to call ATF. I thought these people were all on the same page. Just shows to go you

that ya better get the right answer from the actual dudes who run the show in D.C.

The back of the Form 4, under the "Paperwork Reduction Act Notice" says in the second sentence, "The information ... is used in

applying to transfer firearms TAXPAID to persons OTHER THAN SPECIAL TAXPAYERS QUALIFIED TO DEAL IN NFA FIREARMS ...

    Interesting, ain't it? http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/dry.gif

  4. PK, you certainly do age well, not a year older than when you were courting Ms. Parker.

As an aside, I'm a gun writer and do a column called "Guns at Auction". I was fortunate enough a few years ago to have an interview with

Marie Barrow, Clyde's younger sister. Butterfield & Buttterfield was having an auction of some of B&C's guns and such.

I actually got to hold a Colt 1911 that Clyde stole from an army depot. He had scratched his name on the slide. When I was told what the Colt would bring at auction, I VERY carefully put it back on the table.

Keep up the good photos. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif
