RON IN PA Posted June 13, 2012 Report Share Posted June 13, 2012 I have a repro KERR sling to install,, but looking at availabile pics,, I cant get the buckle (too wide) to pass thru the 'O' rings and/or the sling swivels, to make up the short assembly,, any help will be Greatly appreciated. emmagee1917 Posted June 13, 2012 Report Share Posted June 13, 2012 No real trick to it. You snap the hook over the bottom "rung" of the swivel or loop . The rung is caught between the hook and the flat spring closure. Rotate through and push off and the sling is through. To hook to the swivel or loop , just pull the hook further over the rung till the rung passes the edge of the spring closure , allowing it to snap against the inside of the hook trapping the rung inside. If it is too wide , you have a defective made repro. There are some military .22 trainers , some Reising M50,55,60,and 65s , and front swivels on trench guns that do not allow Kerr type slings in , neither repro nor originals .Chris Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
