txpatriot
I just purchased a BM59 made by Springfield Armory and i was looking at bolt and it appears to not be marked BM59 and does not have extra relief cuts i have seen in pics on this site.I am not original owner. I was wondering if unmodified Garand bolt will work. Previous owner appears to have fired weapon and did not mention replacing bolt. My question is is the weapon safe to fire. It is SA bolt and it clears mags it looks like it just rubs a bit on mag lips. Also does anyone have a true BM 59 bolt for sale? with relief cuts or it it hard to have one cut? i purchased a BM made garand bolt extraThank you for any info Edited September 5, 2015 by txpatriot
RDS
BM59 bolts are available but not cheap. Try Standard Parts about a month ago they were listing them on ebay.

hawksnest
Suggest you send an e-mail to standard parts. Greg can probably locate a bolt for you.
Frenchkat
Go over to Tim Shufflin's "Battle Tested" forums. You might try checking Northride Parts or The Garand Guy also.
Frenchkat
Just re-read my post - it should read "Northridge". I checked their site, not showing any and neither was Sarco. KB

txpatriot
Thank everyone who commented. I contacted Standard and got one. Do i need to have head space checked or if bolt closes tight am i good to go.?
RDS
You will need the head space checked. Make sure to use 7.62 Nato gauges. Do not use .308 gauges as there is a difference.
