MRJ Posted November 20, 2004 Report Share Posted November 20, 2004 M1 and BM59 handguards are identical with three exceptions: 1.BM59 handguard front collar is relieved slightly to fit in BM59 lower band. An M1 handguard can be modified in a few minutes. 2.BM59 rear handguards used on BM59E's with setback rechambered barrels are 1/2" shorter. 3.Nigerian BM59 handguards are modified with a cutout for the carrying handle. boeboe Posted November 21, 2004 Report Share Posted November 21, 2004 Yes, and if you are thinking about a BM59 handguard from Reese, the one's they sell for the BM59 are for BM59E, 1/2" shorter.
