Cupheag
Greetings all, I am looking for two (2) MUZZLE BRAKES for the Garand style BM59 (I've heard of them referred to as the "E"model or the "SL" model, whichever you prefer). I went down to SARCO in the Peoples Republic of New Jersey and they will not sell them seperately (only with their kits). Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks! RDS
The E type flash hider will only work with a M1 gas cylinder. As far as I know they were only imported with the kits. You may try Ed Faust in Ca. he uses several business names, " Old Sacramento Armoury" is one of them. He and Classic Arms imported kits about 10 years ago from Morocco. They were the best E type kits.
Cupheag
RDS, thanks for the reply. I tried both places today without any luck. Also, I haven't gotten the response I would have hoped for on this search. I imagine there are thousands of these "brakes" across the country rusting away in peoples "spare parts drawers". Oh well, I'll just keep plugging!!! All the best, Cupheag
MRJ
Cupheag, You might try an email to Andy at Ghostkill@libero.it. He's an evilbay seller whose selling a lot of '59 items. He uses the seller name andreafrancesco4933 on evilbay. Good luck. MRJ
aquilon116
Are you looking for a BM59 tri-comp that's been modified to work with a standard M1 Garand? If so, Reese Surplus has them. Good luck w/ your search.
Cupheag
No, I'm looking for the brake that would fit on an M1 Garand like the ones in the Sarco kits with the holes drilled on the top. Thanks for the reply!!! Cupheag Edited March 8, 2007 by Cupheag
mikebaker1129
cuphead Reese has a couple BM62 breaks listed on their site now . You could always drill your own holes ? Hope this helps ..... Mike
RDS
E type brakes and BM 62 brakes are not the same. The spacing of the gas plug hole is differant. You maybe able to modify a BM 62 brake to work with a M1 gas cylinder.
mikebaker1129
You are most correct ! I check this out and it is true a 62 is in fact different ,as RDS pointed out .
