dalbert
This is a question I'm asking in case anyone knows offhand when H&R changed their name officially from H&R Arms Co. to Harrington and Richardson Inc. I think it was around 1948 to 1950. Does anyone know for sure, and can a source be cited? Thanks! David Albertdalbert@sturmgewehr.com
TSMGguy
Hi, David, Just Googling 'Harrington & Richardson Firearms' brought up a wealth of information, including from Wikipedia, and a listing for a new book about the history of H&R that would be right down hour alley. I'd have provided links but for some reason either the site or my software is preventing copying and pasting just now. Hope this helps!
dalbert
TSMGguy, Yes, I have the H&R book, and it is short on company history. That's part of the reason I've been writing a book for a few years now on Reising .22 firearms, and I'm including an H&R history chapter. I can infer the date range of the name change, but I'm inquiring to see if someone knows it for certain. I actually have 2 H&R books, plus a very short production date reference pocket book. Very little detail has been written on H&R. David Albertdalbert@sturmgewehr.com

dalbert
Big Al, Thank you for the link, as I had not seen that before, though I didn't find anything new there. It has some good information, and some misleading information, as well. H&R history is not well documented, though I will change that, and have already documented more than appears in any other publication or website.
