Pa Deuce
Hi! Does anyone have a source for any literature describing the use of various link loaders in loading .50 BMG into disintegrating links? If not, can anyone describe for me the procedure to use these loaders? TIA http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif REMEMBER: Gun Control is NOT about GUNS; it is about CONTROL!!! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/mad.gif
Abwehr
I am not sure I can answer your questions, but I will give it a shot. I load links for a BMG in 7.62mm, but the loading procedure is close to the same. First, the only manual link loader I am aware of for the .50 cal, is the one sold by several vendors for approx. $100. This unit is loaded by laying the appropriate number of links onto a grooved surface (usually approx. 10 rds.) in the correct order, sliding the bullet into the links by hand until the slightest resistence is felt. Then the handle with a rammer arm which contacts the base of the rounds is pulled. When pulling the handle, the rammer will press the rounds fully into the links to the preset depth. The loaded links are then moved to allow another set of empty links to be placed. The last loaded link is used to connect the next set of 10 rounds. I hope this is the info you are looking for. The process is very easy and no problem once you see the linker.
