  1. Hi Guys, Anyone know of good sites to look for a Winchester 1918 B. A. R.? I do not care for a 1918A2; only interested in something that somehow escaped modification to 1918A2; but, likely saw combat in WWII. I regularly search Sturmgewehr.com, MachineGuns.com; and, occasionally check out SubGuns.com. Any other suggestions? Do Shotgun News and Gun List really have the Winchester 1918's advertized? Thank you very much for any help http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif
  2. Gentlemen, Are we not glad that Texas Rangers no longer do this kind of thing??? Seems, at the time, a Ranger appointment was a political kickback of some kind. This lead to the disgraceful actions of some people like Pappy. Ask any Texas Ranger if he would be proud of this story; likely he would tell you that he is ashamed of that part of the otherwise glorious history of the Texas Rangers http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/ph34r.gif
  3. GUYS: WRITE ALL OF YOUR REPRESENTATIVES http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/laugh.gif Then, VOTE LIBERTARIAN!!! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/ph34r.gif
  4. Hi Nick! WAY OFF TOPIC, but... my nurse, when I lived in Missouri (pronounced "Miz'-er-ee") had a name plate with her name and HNIC underneath. She never did tell me what the acronym meant. Can you? http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/unsure.gif
  5. Hi Guys, http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif What are the titles of Richardson's books and where can I find them? http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/unsure.gif TIA http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif
  6. I agree with TAB; make the owners responsible. Putting down dogs just because they were at the same dwelling from which the offender came is not right. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/mad.gif I think everyone has not only a RIGHT to defend him/herself from predators (be they two- or four-legged); but an OBLIGATION to do so. Unstopped, animals (two- and four-legged) continue to roam, hurting others http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif Just my $0.02 http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/ph34r.gif
  7. After reading the post of the M-16 v. TSMG, I thought you guys would like to render opinions on why people charge nearly the same price for an M3 as others charge for a TSMG (I am talking about M1's and M1A1's). http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/ph34r.gif
  8. Ferrari Daytona Spyder, Ferrari 250 Testarossa, Ferrari 250 GTO, Maserati Spyder, Lamborghini Murcielago, a house just for me and my lover (who looks sorta like Daisy Mae in the old Lil' Abner comics) with an extremely secure armory and a garage to house all of these exotics plus my daily driver (a 2005 Lotus Elise) on four sections of land set up wit a firing range for me to fire my M1 Savage and Ma Deuce. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif
  9. Doug, I have had no adverse experience that makes me "hide" behind a made-up name. My name signifies my latest acquisition (but how can a guy call himself Ma Deuce). I do not crave anonymity; a search on the internet only netted my late cousin, who, as a policeman, died while on suspension for something that was, at the very best, unfair. Nevertheless, I remain confident that the courts will find his desk sergeant guilty and fine him and his fair city plenty of money for which my grieving sister-in-law can use. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif Although 49 years of age, I try to keep up with computers and learn from my 15 year old daughter. The day I quit learning, is the day I should quit my job as a rheumatologist, for any physician who quits being a student is a dangerous physician!!! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/tongue.gif Professor Ricardo E. 10. I agree with GiantPanda4. Ft. Knox will NOT disappoint you. I bought one new from them when I lived in Mississippi, moved it to Arkansas, and, finally Grand Forks ND. When the flood of 1997 destroyed my basement, and the safe (thank God I was able to move my weapons up to the ground floor before we were evacuated) Ft. Knox got their records out and credited the price I paid for it toward a new one, same model. I wonder how many safe manufacturers would do this for you? You will not feel insecure when you leave home on vacation. Again, this is for a NEW safe!
  11. Greg, Welcome to the board; and, thanks for the link! Arthur, Thanks for the information. Do you happen to know if anyone offers the series on VHS or DVD format? I have not yet had the time to search the link that Greg gave me. TIA
  12. Happy Veterans's Day!! For all of you who get to take today off, celebrate the freedom you have, courtesy of U.S. Veterans! While off, see if you can follow the series COMBAT! as I have to work today. The first episode this morning, showed Sgt. Saunders carrying an M1 Garand. The third episode, entitled "For the Record" featured him carrying a 1928A1, or an M1A1 (which is what I remember him carrying when I watched the series in my youth; about 8-10 years old) with a Cutt's compensator. Does anyone know which it was? If so, please follow the series for today only (14 hours total) on the Action Channel and let me know. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/wink.gif Also, Lt. Hanley, in the first episode, about D-Day, was a five stripe seargent; how does he become a lieutenant? Also, he carried an M1 Garand; when did he start carrying an M1 carbine? Finally, I recall one episode (remember, this was 40 years ago!) in which it appeared that he carried an M2 carbine. Can anyone set me straight on this? http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif TIA http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/laugh.gif Pa Deuce aka Lt. 13. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/mad.gif I agree with Bruce L; although we should take this to the Rantings and Ravings section. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif
  14. Hi guys http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif What are the dates for the SAR show? I may be able to attend, if I have enough notice. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif Thanks http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif
  15. Sgt. Martin, Great photos!!! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif Please keep your M1A1 as stock as possible. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/smile.gif I noticed that the rear sight has what appears to be knurling or checkering around the aperature. My M1 does not have this feature; when did Savage begin to feature this? http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- REMEMBER: Gun Control is NOT about Guns; it is about CONTROL!!! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/mad.gif
