leid
Hi guys, Who was the manufacturer "INLAND". I remember seeing "INLAND DIV" on an M2 carbine many years ago. Did they also make Browning 30 cal machine guns during WW2? THANKS Carey

leid
Hi smoker, That is what I remember also, but it was 30 years ago. I just ordered "Hard Rain" for educational purposes. THANKS Carey
Shooter
In reference to 1919s my understanding is that Inland guns are sideplate guns (transferable not C&R) and were not made by the Inland division of GM. leid
Shooter is right. "Hard Rain" says that INLAND ARMS was in Austin, TX and made registered side plates. THANKS Carey
Woody
Inland Arms was a CII business owned by Charles "Chuck" Hudak from Austin,TX Between '68 and '86 Hudak manufactured a wide variety of NFA weapons including quite a few "Inland" sideplate A4s, 1917A1s and a few M2 .50s His workmanship was excellent and generally his guns are well regarded. PATHFINDER
Yes, you remember correctly. Inland Div. was part of GM here in Michigan.(Saginaw area) and if you vist one office block in particular(restricted entry) they have a great display of carbine and carbine parts. Nope, they did not make .30 cals there. 10 or so mile away Saginaw Gear and Stearing I think made .30 cal parts. But when asked, GM denies ever making weapons at ANY time. Same with DKW's and trucks. In thier 50th aniversary book they gave out to employees there was a two page (9x12) photo colage spread of what GM did durring WWII. They devoted more ink to thier ugly, low slung, gas tubine, concept semi truck and trailer rig from the 60's!!
