mp40shooter
Are there any contemporary 50 round drum magazines that are worth having to use as a shooter for an Auto Ordnance (Kahr) 1927 model? The gun's mag catch has been altered to handle GI magazines. Thanks!
Ivan
The mag catch should accept the drums no problem. The stick mags have to be converted. The repro L drums sold by SARCO and others seem to work just fine. Cost about $150 unless you catch SARCO when they are having a sale. Got one for $90 from SARCO at a gunshow, back before we avoided large crowds.IMHO it is better to modify the catch or replace with a G.I. catch so you can use unconverted stick mags. Tiz
Sarco drums are great, Picked up 4 when they ran a 2 for $198 sale a little while back. They run fine in 1928A1 so they should be good for a semi as well.
deerslayer
Simply swapping the mag catch to a GI mag catch does not allow you to use unaltered gi mags. A new mag catch and a GI mag catch are the same size. You must alter either mag catch to use a GI magazine without opening up the hole on the back.
