billie32
I just found in my parts, a Liege made Sten mark II barrel with the original shroud and the bushing receiver part. No other markings, just the standard Liege proof. Anybody hear of these at all?
billie32
posted this question on another forum and was told that the Belgians made Sten Mk.IIs in the 1950's for the Israelis. Just figured i'd share my findings so far

UK Armourer
Guys, back in 1985 I had around 12 light blue coloured Mk 2 STEN's in my dealer stock here in the UK that were Belgium proofed and all pretty near new condition. They came in a surplus consignment from Israel. The build quality was much better than normal UK built STEN Mk 2's. I have a photograph somewhere I will dig out and post here later. Cheers, Vic Edited February 3, 2010 by UK Armourer
Mk VII
Belgium received a large quantity of British (or at any rate Commonwealth) pattern military equipment after the war. Added to this they produced a large number of Stens at their Racour arsenal, for domestic and export purposes.
billie32
good to know, looks like i'll hold onto it in case i ever find the right sten. looks like it would be a good barrel to shoot with as the Belgians made good stuff
