Soldiers carrying some interesting captured German weapons to a make-shift range near Gurzenich, Germany. They were intending to familiarize themselves with the weapons. From left to right: PFC Paul Kumler (he's got a combat knife dangling from his belt), Duncannon, PA; PFC Lawrence Totsky, Mayfield PA.; PFC Stuart Rouse, Kinston, NC. The three men were part of Patton's 3rd Army and the photo was taken on February 7, 1945. The weapons they are carrying include an StG-44 assault rifle and an MG-42 or 34 light machine gun.
