Big Al
Really? Everyone that saw this thought it was unremarkable and not worthy of comment?
emmagee1917
No , thanks for posting it.In my case , I don't have sound on this computer , so I miss a lot of the clips . Here , however , I have seen this several times ( the MG segment ) and it's been on several of his specials and rememberances on TV and DVD.Somewhere around here I have an audio recording of the show he did in Yuma while passing through to the PTO. They would set up and do a show at thier stop overs to practice set up / take down and , of course , the show.Chris
Big Al
Thanks, Chris. All the members of that generation were something else. My grandfather, who is in his 80s and still going strong, was an airplane mechanic in the navy. He worked on Corsairs and Avengers at a training base in Florida. Is that recording of Bob Hope in digital format? If you ever come across it, let me know and I will PM you my email.
Devil Dog 1110
One of my very few good memories of Vietnam was seeing Bob Hope and his gorgeous ladies put on their Christmas show outside of Danang. He was great and we loved him.
emmagee1917
Somebody in the crowd tape recorded it on a reel to reel. The local collage radio played it one day ( it has the first 20-30 minutes of the show , guess till the tape ran out ) . I called and they were kind enough to put it on a CD for me.Not smart enough to know if I can do anything with it from there . Not even sure where it is.Chris
Big Al
If you find the CD, I may be able to help you send me the file. I am somewhat computer-savy.
