  1. Gearz, Very cool link on the CD issue 11A. I like Dave am building a Military 11A from some of my parts. I've never seen the paper work for the load adjustment attached in any fore stock before. I'd really like to find one of those. I own a 16ga, 20ga, 12ga and a 12ga with a Paradox slug barrel all commercial. Then I have a standard Military issue 12ga with the Lyman Cutts compensator and the military project I'm building now. But the one that started the passion 20 years ago was a ISP stamped (Illinois State Penitentiary) police riot issue. It's a very early issue with the safety in the trigger housing. I can't help but see it in a setting like the movie Green Mile. Looks like I'm missing one now. That CD issue is very cool. I'm gonna have to locate one of those. Best, Steve
  2. Art, A BMW bike and BM59 owner, hell yes! I may just come to the rally if I don't have any conflicts with work travel. I sold my 1991 GS100PD here a few years back when I fell on some hard times. But I looking again. Your more than welcome to stop by though. The town of Labadie is a great detour for motorcycle riders. Highway T which I live on, is on the BMW Ultimate Drive app. I've posted it myself. I have 11 acres of forest and a great place to shoot. I listed my contact information above when writing to Doug. Feel free to write or call anytime. Best, Steve
  3. Greg, I will not post your actual response that you sent me. It was foul at best. I respect that your not a gun smith, but you sell to the general public as a "gun parts dealer". I have sent you two e-mails that have now been returned, and we have talked personally. Both of my e-mails have been returned as a failure, where they weren't before this incident. Had this para comp caused me harm, or death.....it would be a very bad thing for you and your heirs. Product liability is a major issue when selling "GUN PARTS". Knowledge of your parts is foremost when "generally" advertising a part as a "bolt on". There is no disclaimer addressing the fact that this part may or may not work on certain barrels. I read just fine. That was not in the print, or the small print. But for Doug telling ,me not to fire it again....I'd still be trying to figure out what you should have known and informed me before advertising this part without any disclaimer. I have children that shoot regularly with me on weekends. Do you understand where I'm going? Consider your ill response and lack of customer support a God Sent that nothing bad happened in the mean time. Had as little as my dog been shaved by a round from this para comp, we'd be talking through lawyers. You have my phone number and e-mail. Use it to rectify this issue. I will post the actual chain of e-mails should anyone doubt the manor in which I was dealt. You chose this format to respond to me, so here we are. Make things right, not throw salt in the wound.
  4. Doug, Thanks for the quick response. I tried firing the gun last night and it still will not full cycle. It will fire, eject, but not travel long enough to strip another round from the magazine. My problem doesn't apper to be anything any of the adjustable gas plugs will address. I'm not making enough pressure. I don't understand how to create more pressure, or why the change to the para comp causes this issue. If I back the threaded para lug off by one full turn and then install the gas plug will this push my gas block tighter causing greater gas pressure that I need? Additionally. The two halves of the compensator fit very loosly. I see a 1/16" deflection at the muzzle end. I'm concerned about shaving. Do they just fit this loose, and could this contribute to the low gas pressure. I would be willing to buy another from a different source that fit and presented better than this one. Any leads on that? The gun fires so beautifully with the long one peice compensator, but I really want that para QD comp on my gun. I really need help on this low gas pressure issue. I was really hoping there would be a dozen different responses when I opened the site this morning. Should anyone wish to contact me directly, please feel free. Steve @314-226-3857, or labadiearms@aol.com.
  5. Hey everybody. My name is Steve Ward and I'm a new member as of today. Recently I purchased a BM62 in what appears to be the Mark1 configuration. It has the tri-compensatore with the bayonet lug deleated. I just bought a para tri-comp from Standard Parts and have been trying to work through some issues with Greg relative to fit. It appears that the para unit has a deeper thread depth than the Mark1. If I screw it all the way down and then back it off slightly to install the gas plug. it has drawn my gas block forward by about 1/8" almost enough to allow the operating rod to fall out. It actually did fall out enough to lock the bolt open once. I reinstalled the Mark1 unit and it pushed the gas block right back into place and the gun fired normal. I figured out that if I thread the para unit down to where the Mark1 unit meets the gas block and installed the gas plug, it fits well and does not move the gas block out of adjustment. I plan to test fire the gun today after work. I have encountered a different problem though also. Now the grenade sight will not fully index in the upright position. The sight is now contacting to back of the para removeable section just enough to keep it from being straight up. I have realized that the Mark1 type has about 1/8" of extra material in front of the threaded lug where the lug and the compensator are seamed. The lug on the para comp is minus that small amount. SOS....I need help from the BM59 efficianados. This gun has been on of my bucket list guns for 25 years. It is a correct gun, PB barrel, PB everything. Best, Steve
