I finally received my long-awaited e-mail from reconbob that my M1A1 BFONG was completed and ready to pick up. I live a 2 1/2-hour drive from his shop. Decided to make the trip on Monday. Spent a couple of hours with Bob discussing many topics. He was very gracious. On to his "range" for a quick test fire. It functioned flawlessly. I was able to see his setup for making the blanks from new Starline .45 ACP blank cases. These have just recently been made available again from Starline. Our discussions verified to me that the production stoppage by Starline had a major effect on his ability to complete the guns. I was able to purchase 1000 blanks while there. I am very impressed with the engineering that went int the design to allow ATF approval and reliable function. The fit and finish is beautiful and has been well worth the wait on Bob's list.
