  1. This is what was marked on mine on the side opposite the ejector port. According to the ATF letter that I received; the marking was a requirement for determination of it not being a firearm.
  2. The new blanks are exactly the same. Made from new Starline .45ACP blank brass.
  3. Before I got the e-mail from reconbob that my Phila Ord BFONG was complete and ready to pick up, I purchased a Doug Richardson M1A1 kit from him and put an Indy Ord upper on it for end of this season's events. I am very happy with it, and it functions well. But with the receipt of Bob's BFONG, I only need one and have chosen the latter. I will sell the upper alone if it goes to someone that already has a lower to install it on. It fit and functioned fine on my lower with no modifications required. I will also list the lower in a separate post. You can PM me to discuss the details.
  4. Ha. I agree. These blanks will not last long. Fortunately Bob can now make as many as he needs. This may also low him to get back to more production of blank guns.
  5. I was put on his list in April 2021. It is a beautiful piece of engineering and was well worth the wait. Are you on Bob's list now?
  6. I finally received my long-awaited e-mail from reconbob that my M1A1 BFONG was completed and ready to pick up. I live a 2 1/2-hour drive from his shop. Decided to make the trip on Monday. Spent a couple of hours with Bob discussing many topics. He was very gracious. On to his "range" for a quick test fire. It functioned flawlessly. I was able to see his setup for making the blanks from new Starline .45 ACP blank cases. These have just recently been made available again from Starline. Our discussions verified to me that the production stoppage by Starline had a major effect on his ability to complete the guns. I was able to purchase 1000 blanks while there. I am very impressed with the engineering that went int the design to allow ATF approval and reliable function. The fit and finish is beautiful and has been well worth the wait on Bob's list. Thank you, Bob!
