  1. Uncle Dudley: Thanks for the info. Here is the weblink: http://www.natchezshooterssupply.com/ammo....FTOKEN=16495716 If you order 10 or more boxes of 50 cartridges the price per box is $8.99 each. This works out to $179.80 per 1,000 rounds without shipping. --bigu2fan
  2. Bill: Thanks for your response. Yes, I know the aluminum Blazer stuff is not to be used in open-bolt guns. CCI now is making a brass-cased cartridge called "Blazer Brass." This is the stuff I was talking about. Natchez has it for $180 a case. Do you have any experience with this stuff? --bigu2fan
  3. Has anybody used the CCI Blazer Brass cased ammo in a TSMG? Natchez and Midway have good deals available on this stuff, but wanted to know what others think of it before ordering. Anyone have any experiences with this stuff? Thanks in advance for any help you can give! --bigu2fan willgreenlee@yahoo.com
  4. Ron: Thanks very much for the reply! I will go ahead and order a couple of these from IMA. Again, I appreciate your assistance. --bigu2fan
  5. I am looking for good quality magazine pouches to hold 30-round M1 Thompson mags. I plan to use these in the local CIII competitions. I see the reproduction ones available through www.ima-usa.com (item MU1630). Anyone here have one of these? If so, what is the quality like? If these aren’t so good, anyone have other recommendations? My only specification is that it must be a 3-cell mag pouch. It doesn’t have to be a WWII reproduction or anything like that. Thanks very much in advance for any help you can give. --bigu2fan willgreenlee@yahoo.com
  6. Phil: Thanks very much for your input. I guess I am worrying too much, which is my tendency :-) I'll order a few from Sarco and try the Wolff Springs, both of which are darned cheap. --Will
  7. I am not having a ton of luck finding new-old-stock WWII era recoil springs for my recently-arrived Bridgeport/Savage M1. Phil Askew said he is out of them, and I'd rather not use SARCO's springs because who knows how many rounds those have fired. With that in mind, what is the general consensus on the Wolff Gunsprings M1 TSMG springs? They are advertised here: http://www.gunsprings.com/RifleShotgun/Tho...mpson_RsNF.html Why are they called "extra power?" Or, if anyone has any new-old-stock WWII M1 springs available, please send me an e-mail. Thanks in advance for any help you can give. --bigu2fan willgreenlee@yahoo.com
  8. Just recently took delivery of a Bridgeport/Savage TSMG M1 and would like to purchase some new recoil springs. I am looking for original, i.e. circa WWII, recoil springs that are unused. I would feel better about shooting this fine old weapon with a known new recoil spring because who knows how many rounds the original spring has on it. Does anyone here know who/where to go for new old stock M1 recoil springs? I do know want West Hurley or Kahr springs. Thanks very much in advance for any help you can give! --Will willgreenlee@yahoo.com
  9. I think Wal-Mart sells the .45 ACP 100-round value packs for $19.99 each. Assuming my math is correct, this appears to be about the same price as the Fiocchi you mentioned. What do you think of Fiocchi ammo? Is it good stuff? Most of the ammo I've shot has been either Winchester or Remington, both in 9mm. I am in the process of getting a WWII vintage M1 transferred to me. --bigu2fan
  10. FYI, nice looking Colt 21/28 recently posted for sale here: http://www.autoweapons.com/products/products.html Second gun in the list, right under the WH 28. Lots of good pictures by clicking on the small photo. --bigu2fan
  11. Here's a Colt for sale: http://www.hallowellco.com/colt_1921_thomp...bmachinegun.htm Lots of pictures and the description is waaaay at the bottom. What do you guys think? --bigu2fan
  12. ******ALL PARTS ARE SOLD PENDING RECEIPT OF FUNDS****** For sale is a set of new Thompson M1 stocks, including the foreend, stock and grip. The foreend and stock come with the sling swivels and the stock has the metal buttplate and crossbolt. I also have a 20-round Thompson mag for sale. It is marked "Auto-Ordnance Corp. Bridgeport Connecticut Reg. In U.S. Patent Off." The lower rear has a "U" on it and the front has what appears to be a Star Of David and a "B" inside a circle (not sure on this last one, it's kind of hard to make out). For additional close-up photos go here: http://briefcase.yahoo.com/willgreenlee For the complete stock set I am asking: $90 For the mag I am asking: $25 Please don't hesitate to make me an offer because I would like to move these items. Shipping is extra. If you have any further questions, please feel free to e-mail me. --Will willgreenlee@yahoo.com
  13. Just saw your post about the 20-round Thompson mags. I have one available if you still are interested. The manufacturer is Bridgeport and the mag is parked. It is in great shape. I am asking $25. Please e-mail me if you are interested. My address is: willgreenlee@yahoo.com
  14. Merry Ploughboy: Thanks for the advice. Just curious though, what safety aspects does the M1 bolt add? I realize the M1 bolt has the fixed firing pin, while the M1A1's firing pin isn't fixed, but can you be a little more specific for me in how the M1 bolt makes the gun safer? Other than swapping the bolts out, is there anything else that needs to be done to get an M1 running with the M1A1 bolt? I am reading "American Thunder," but haven't made it all the way through yet. This is my first Thompson -- I have fired a variety of other CIII weapons, i.e. MP5, Uzi, M-16, Swedish K, but have never owned a Thompson. Thanks again for your help! --Will
  15. I am in the process of buying a transferrable Bridgeport M1 that's all original, although it is an arsenal re-work. I am buying this as a shooter and would like any advice on what spare parts I should stock up on. I will only be shooting good quality, factory loaded ammo through it. Any thoughts? Also, what is the general opinon on the Wolff recoil springs for Thompsons? I'd feel more comfortable on firing the Thompson with a recoil spring that I know to be new and un-used, rather than one thats 60+ years old and has who knows how many rounds on it. But perhaps I'm being paranoid. Thanks very much in advance for any advice you can give. --Will willgreenlee@yahoo.com
