  1. Was it nice? What would you rate the condition?? Dave
  2. In a sense you are correct, but you must remember the springs in the gun have a constant pitch, hence making it a CONSTANT rate (pounds required to compress the spring one inch)as the bolt recoils rearward the rate increases, slowing the bolt down dramatically before it actually strikes the rear most position of the receiver, as for vibration like harmonics I don’t think in firearms this is a major problem clearances must be liberal, but adequate, there is no room for vibration inside the receiver, if so EVERYTHING would work harden and be a total disaster, hell if the clearance was so excessive you would never reliably strip a cartridge from the magazine If you read up on the gun itself the blish lock principle is basically a hoax! I mean it DOES work but not on all cartridges in all occasions THE only cartridge that actually worked in all of the tests was the pistol caliber cartridges, anything with super velocity was just not feasibly actually if I am not mistaken Thompson wanted to have rifle caliber cartridges on his trench broom, 30.06 Maybe I am wrong, but I have spent 12 years of my life designing and making springs from Heavy trucks to patriot Missiles to nuclear submarines all of the factors come into play, but in this instance I don’t think harmonics, and vibration are a major concern Just my silly opinion Later Dave
  3. John they are a piece opf shit but reliable, and simple! They are the US version of the Sten! If you collect semi auto versioins NO WAY would I buy one they are BIG time expensive for a stamped out gun But hey we all have our opinions! I like all guns, I am a gun nut, I LOVE machine guns, ANY types any kinds! My favorite is the Thompson 1921A Colt to be exact I love the look without the compensator, that is why I built this post sample, I only need to finish it off! Hey just for the hell of it, I belong to a gun club up here in North Eastern Ohio that is Automatic friendly, we host a military shoot twice a year in the spring and the fall if anyone is interested drop me a line, it is an open invitation for ANYONE on this board and I will let ALL of you try my autos if you make it out! Dave
  4. WHO CARES HOW they got them lets buy them! Clinton did as much for this country as Nylons did for finger banging! WE NEED to buy ALL of those before they confinscate them!!! Dave
  5. OK my Richardson 1921 Post sample is a Sucess!!!!!!! I would like to post pictures of it if somone could help me here! ALSO are the New spring kits, Guys they will be ready in a short while I have ONLY a few minor tests and we are off to the races! Dave
  6. Well M#'s are pretty bad ass also, though cheap they are STILL sweet weapons! You are not really paying for quality or reliablity, you are paying for the NFA status of a transferable weapon M3's are nice in my opinion, I hope to own one some day! Dave
  7. Do they HAVE complete 28 kits for sale? If so how much!
  8. AMEN CROW! A machine is ONLY as smart as its operator! CNC machines WILL repeat EXACTLY what the operator programs it to do, BUT if he is LAZY as 90% of Americans are today and does not program to the "mean" (a manufacturers term for to the middle) of the tolerances you have basically what Italy manufacturers! EVERYTHING MUST be hand fitted!, hence no interchangeability! OLD AMERICAN weapons are the BEST in the world!!! Hands down! The THOMPSON is a machinist’s nightmare and a collectors dream! I consider myself a very good BEGINER machinist, and very knowledgeable in mass production! I would give my left pinky to spend 3 weeks in the Colt factory in the early 1920's seeing those guns being produced! I can picture it: OLD brown and Sharpe Horizontal mills, (just like my number 2) rows and rows of them, each doing one operation , about 10 production pieces at a time what a sight to see, American manufacturing at its best!!! If my spring factory EVER takes off to be what I hope it will be, I WILL buy a Mori Seiki CNC lathe and a Fadal VMC, THEN I hope to use my FFL/SOT to reproduce a REAL nice Semi Thompson ANYONE would be proud to own! Guys if you could see the design I have I think you would ALL be in love! NOW I must just do it! Dave
  9. You go bro! This a weird post tough I think maybe a comparison like a STEN or a TSMG , or a MP38 and a TSMG, but never the less it still is fun to see everyones opinion! NOTHING can stop an AK! NOTHING! I have tried and I can not kill it! I can post a video of my friend trying to help me kill my post sample if someone can post it! Dave
  10. Happy thanksgiving from Ohio also guys! Today my father and I are are going to blast off my NEW Richardson 192M post sample 21 Colt! (If anyone can post pictures I will send them for all to see!! I also want to post one of the recoil spring set) AND we are going to do the FINAL tests on the recoil kits with the new buffers, gosh I hope all works well that will be a GREAT Thanksgiving for me! Just think: 1 Thompson, and tons of Ammo, a belly full of turkey, mashed potatoes, squash, pumpkin pie, and a few beers!!!!! Guns, and Beer beat football any day (if used responsibly of course)!!! Peace out Dave
  11. Only the top 5 most reliable? What is number 1? Yeah the 16 basically sux Dave
  12. Thanks fellaz! I sent some pictures to a friend I would lke him to post them when he gets a little time! Watch this post for them! Dave
  13. Well now I have both both have their place, though the tsmg is 100% more reliable, and much more fun to shoot. My 16 is a little jerk sometimes ANY dirt it is crap! My AK is different hell I damn near destroyed it and it still runs! I wont dare do that to ANY tsmg! Dave
  14. GUYS! I AM NOT pissed at ANYONE on the board! I am pissed at my computer! It keeps posting incomplete posts!!! Dave
  15. DAMN IT this thing is PISSING ME OFF!!! Guys not long now, I SURE hope all this works out if not I will feel like a total butt hole!
  16. PAUL! YOU KNOW I RESPECT ALL OF YOUR INPUT 100%! I was not even criticizing what youthink, I repect it and incorporated it into my design!
  17. OK this is pissing me off! hitting wrong keys and posting weird posts!! I dont think there will be too much troubles with the increased velocity of the bolt here is my reasoning: 1. The tension of my springs COMBINED is still stronger that that of a factory TSMG M1A1, a PURE slam fire machine. 2. The thickness of the West Hurley semi is MUCH thicker than a factory 1928, or even a M1A1 for that matter, plus I am adding a impact resistant buffer system, that should help. 3. As for opening too soon I dont see how that can happen, a M1A1 is a direct blowback mechanism EXACTLY like the semi and needs chamber pressure to cycle the action, a 45 is a 45 if it will cycle the FA bolt with less tension than I have already, there should be no problems! Any how I am going to do a few more tests I have about 30 or so that will be ready SOON guys I know this has been a long wait thanks for your support. I will keep you all posted Dave
  18. Hey I was reading! OK My buffers were too thick SO I machined them thinner, and am doing some more testing.
  19. Wow this board is fast! Anyhow the kits are ready but I can not sell ANY until my incorporation goes through! My attorney has told me if I were to sell any without being incorporated I would be a very foolish individual, and as of now he has never left me out to dry! Sorry I have not been on the board too much I had a Hernia that needed some surgery, a word of advice DO NOT THINK you are still 18 and bullet proof! Damn that surgery hurts like hell! So guys thanks for all of your iunquiries, and just hang in there I dont know how long it takes to incorporate, but the application has been sent in a few weeks ago! Guys , the wait will be WELL worth it! Dave
