  1. I know this is the MP40 board, but it seems like the most logical place to ask. I'm curious to know what your experiences are with the MP35. Does the mag being on the right side throw off the balance? Was it a dog, or a good shooter? Thanks in advance.
  2. Does the "TOMMY GUN" stamp mean that it was a lend lease gun?
  3. Hi TD. Thanks for welcoming me to this board. Delta6 - Does Sid McQueen frequent this board? If not, might you know how to contact him?
  4. Hi, Here's the situation, I am looking at buying a Colt Thompson (1928 Navy overstamp) which is no where near original condition. The seller claims that it was an arsenal rebuild, but has smooth barrel, light parkarising, incorrect wood, Savage internals, and no proof marks (other than the "JHB" in a circle on the right side). We took it out and shot it, and it runs like a champ. No function issues at all. The guy who owned it prior to the seller had it for three decades, I saw a copy of his form. The prior owner purchased it from a company named "Sir Sidney's Submachineguns" in Albuquerque, NM. I am really looking for a shooter with some history, not a safe queen. Any idea what this item might be worth? Anyone ever hear of "Sir Sidney's Submachineguns"? Thanks in advance, Tim
  5. Sorry for the long delay in posts, I have been finishing papers for school, and getting ready for finals. I will take a look at the rest of the parts tonight, and shoot some images of them for you. The rifle is still at my dealers (as it has not transferred to me yet), so I can only shoot the images of the bolt and associated parts I have in my possession. I'll post the images in the next day or two. Thanks for the help. Tim (Person who breaks machineguns and airplanes)
  6. Ok, so I finally get to take the BM59 out to the range and play. After fifty rounds, it stops working. Come to find out that the extractor bent (see image below). Is this a common problem? I am hearing the Reese is running out of parts, or that they are the only BM59 parts supplier, and will eventually run out of parts. What parts should I have an ample supply of on hand just incase? Thanks, Timhttp://www.thsimagery.com/bentextractor.jpg
  7. Sorry it has taken so long... here are some pics: http://www.thsimagery.com/BM59_1.jpg http://www.thsimagery.com/BM59_2.jpg http://www.thsimagery.com/BM59_3.jpg http://www.thsimagery.com/BM59_4.jpg http://www.thsimagery.com/BM59_5.jpg http://www.thsimagery.com/BM59_6.jpg http://www.thsimagery.com/BM59_7.jpg http://www.thsimagery.com/BM59_8.jpg http://www.thsimagery.com/BM59_9.jpg http://www.thsimagery.com/BM59_10.jpg
  8. MRJ- Actually, I am more familiar with M16s and M60s, where you just spray in some CLP and call it a day as far as lubing it before shooting. Where should I lubricate it? I read something saying that I should use grease, as opposed to CLP... is this true? If so, what is the best type? I'll post some images of it once it arrives. Thanks
  9. I just found out that ATF approved the transfer of my BM59, it only took a total of nine (9) months. So, before I take it out to the range, what should I know?
  10. Thanks Asmodeus, I have noticed that some say Springfield Armory, others say Rock Island Armory, and still others say Beretta. Is there a good source for info regarding the different importers, manufacturers, etc...?
  11. Just curious... what are the markings on the back?
  12. A few days later, and it is already gone!
