  1. Just picked up a soft air TSMG from Sportsmans Guide. If you use the 10 ft rule it looks really good. Shoots 6mm BB's SA only from a 30 rnd box (holds 400 bb's ) . The catalog says it is a 1928 Military model, the box says Military M1 and the left side of the Rcvr says " Model of 1921". Finned barrel, Slotted cocking handle on top and a Horiz. fore grip. Gun cost $99 and 10K bb's cost something like $12. Buyers club is less. Delivered in 3 days, not like my trials with Hunters Lodge. Works fine after I learned to load the mag. Can sit at the computer and shoot at a box on the other side of the room. Might be worth looking in to. I ordered off their web site
  2. adlake, missed your post before I added the above. Sounds like you have done this before. Thanks, but can't these people(KAHR) get it right the first time. I paid c.$800 for the gun and c.$600 for PK to get it working right. At this rate I'll be up to the cost of a FA before it works like it should out of the box.
  3. Tried it both ways. Put the broken firing pin back in and it went together just like it was supposed to. Checked the old pin against the new one and there is a difference on the lower angled part. Evidently Kahr has't heard about Eli Whitney and interchangeability of parts. It's gunsmith time.
  4. Got the firing pin. Only have to drift out one pin to install it. Now the problems start. When I get the frame back on the receiver the bolt will only go about half way back and when I disassemble it again something seems to catch on the firing pin, pulling it to the rear and then letting it snap forward. I plan on putting the broken pin back in, put it all back together and see if it goes back the right way. Cleaned it las weekend, before I discovered the broken firing pin and it went back together just like it's supposed to. Any ideas or are Thompsons, FA/SA just not for me?
  5. For those who saw the post about the replica TSMG I ordered from Hunters Lodge and the trouble with getting the refund or the Replica. GOT THE REFUND ! Called my credit card co. last night and told them I was disputing the charge. Was going to mail out today Ltrs to Hunters lodge NRA Shotgun News Tennessee Attorney General Ethridge Chamber of Commerce The Louisville Courier journal "Lemme Doit" Even listed my Lawyer although that might have cost more than it was worth. Checked with the credit card co once more before I dropped everything in the mail and the credit was posted last night. Now I have to start looking again. Shooters has a 1928 for $1100 and a BBgun for $99 and then there is the English firm with M1A1's for $450.
  6. I have a Kahr TM1 that has broken it's second firing pin. I'll call them for a replacement but figure they'll send me another pot metal part. Was wondering if a GI firing pin would fit the piece. At least it would be honest steel and might last for a while. I only have about 2500 rnds thru the gun and have broken two firing pins and PK had to replace two other parts when he was working on it. Any ideas on this as a proper fix?
  7. Just give up and send it to PK. Mine worked pretty well but not 100% which is what I demand in a gun. Like most I can't afford a FA and really wonder if I want to fill out that much paperwork if I could. I sent my Kahr M1 to PK waited 9 months and got back a serious social tool , not a toy. It eats 185 jhp's all day and hits my 100yd plate every time I do my part. PK was good. send it now , later will only cost more.
  8. Last call was today. Talked to a worker in the shop. He said no one else was there and he didn't know who owned the co. From what they have told me in previous phone calls, they were swamped with ordersfor, I assume resin replicas. Evidently they are imported, they say they expect more but aren't sure when. My problem is the way they charged my VISA before they shipped the order and when they didn't even have the product to ship. This is dishonest in my opinion. I plan to keep calling, luckly I have unlimited long distance, as otherwise the long distance charges would be more than the refund. Next gun show I'll see if that English firm has dummy guns. Pricy but you pay the money and carry the dummy out with you. I'm just stuborn enough and am retired that I may go camp on their doorstep!!
  9. On 15 March 2005 I ordered A Replica/Dummy Thompson from " Hunter's Lodge Corp" in Ethridge ,TN. My credit card was charged that day! Since then I have been trying to get either the replica or a refund. Numerous phone calls have produced neither. Has anyone had the same problem with these people and does anyone have any suggestions on where I can go to get satifaction? I have emailed Shotgun News but have had no response from them.
  10. Does anyone have any experience with the XX and XXX mags offered by Sportsman's Guide? Are they worth the price and do they work?
  11. Does anyone have a source for good quality replicas or dewats? I want something as realistic as possible to use for reenactments so I don,t bang up the real gun. Any model, 1928,28a1, M1, M1A1. Tnx
