  1. 100% reliable. John did a great job. Well worth the investment.
  2. Hey guys. Just wanted to show off my KA Auto Ordnance M1A1 SBR. While it was in NFA Jail, I sent it to John Andrewski in NH. He did a number of upgrades for me. Very pleased with it. Love the parked finish.
  3. I know very little about M1/M2 conversions. I'm very interested in this Inland 1944 production. Other than the price being steep, is this a good bet conversion? I appreciate any information you could provide me on this. Thanks, Jay https://dealernfa.com/shop/m1-m2-carbine-inland-excellent-5210679/
  4. Ok, I'm dropping this gun. There's obviously more to know about buying a Thompson than I know. I have a lot of homework to do.
  5. I'm looking at an M1 Bridgeport Thompson. The gun looks super clean overall. It obviously has been re-parked at some point. There is some pitting around the chamber area of the receiver that has me a little concerned. Let me know if this looks like an issue I would need to address or leave it as is?
  6. I have a mint Kahr 1927A1 for sale. It has the 50rd drum (unused) two 30 rd mags from Kahr and three modified USGI 30 rd mags. It all comes in a new replica FBI hardcase. I've fired exactly 50rds through the gun, even a few hollowpoints. Rifle functions great with the mags included. I'm letting it go for $1250!!! That's about $300 less than I have in it http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/banghead.gif Email at j_b_hickman@yahoo.com or call 989-791-4797http://img167.imageshack.us/img167/6140/t1wc4.jpg SOLD SOLD SOLD
  7. QUOTE (full auto 45 @ Oct 5 2006, 08:55 PM) I have to say after looking at the originals and Greg Fox's cases, I would prefer the Fox case. Greg does a absolute perfect job on all his work. The Indiana case, I have a softness for these, looks so much like the original, it is hard to tell the two apart. If you want a case to show off your goodies and get the "respect" they deserve, get Greg's case. If you want something to sit in the corner and not worry if the cat pisses on it, well get Kahr. Or spend $2500 and get an original you would be afraid to carry around for fear or damaging it. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/iagree.gif
  8. $589 for a Fox made case http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/blink.gif I paid $149 for my Kahr. Somehow I feel a bit better about the thing. I guess you get what you pay for.
  9. QUOTE (1921 Gangsta @ Sep 29 2006, 06:53 PM) Regal : is this the same FBI style case that "Tommy-gunner" sells ? I was going to purchase one of those but i hesitated because i wanted a replica case that is the shorter length like the originals for my RSBR Kahr '27a1 . I wont buy it after hearing your experience. That press board crap comes apart and disintegrates if it gets wet. Sorry to hear about this. Thanks for the heads up. Yes, it's the one Tommygunner sells. Very flimsy feeling. It looks OK, but that's where it ends. Very poor materials and workmanship. I should have stayed with the plastic and foam case that the gun came in. That one is actually pretty nice for what it is.
  10. I recently purchased a Kahr 1927A1 Semi. The rifle actually functions quite well out of the box. I decided to order the FBI replica case for $149. Just got it today. I knew something was amiss when I lifted the box. Much lighter than I expected. Upon examination, this thing is so cheaply made I almost laughed. It is made out of the cheapest ply/pressed wood you can buy. The top and lower portions do not line up well and you have to manipulate it to get it to latch. I had a West Hurley FBI case back in the 80s that was a real piece of furniture. I guess that's what I was expecting when I ordered this one http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/sad.gif
  11. I know I'll have to modify them to fit. Was just wondering if they were GI and in the "excellent" shape SG says they are in?
  12. OK, I'll probably get flamed here, but I bought a 1927A1 with the 50rd drum the other day. Seems to be high quality? I noticed that Khar now uses the drill and tap method and screws down the rear sight block that a lot of people say will shoot loose with the rivet method. Maybe Khar is listening after all?? I'm going to get the FBI hard case for it also. Let's hope it shoots half as nice as it looks http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif
  13. Hello, I just bought a Kahr 1927A1 Delux. Brand new. Came with a 50Rd L drum but no stick mag. I see Kahr sells them for $66 OUCH!!! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif I see Sportsman Guied has them for about $15. I ordered 4 of them and was wondering if they are GI. Any experiences with these mags??
  14. Saw a couple of these at a local gun shop. Outside of weighing a ton, seemed to be pretty well made fit and finish wise. I know a lot of people have posted their troubles with these models. Was wondering if anyone out there had a good experience with one out of the box??
  15. Anyone have an oppinion on wether or not either of these two are better than the other in regards to reliability out of the box?
  16. I've bought some real lemons over the years however, the internet has changed that. I now have the tools to do a throuogh research on potential purchases like the Kahr thompson. This has saved me many a headache and I can honestly say that I'm a much wiser consumer because of it. Until I start seeing better reports on the Kahr thompsons I'll have to pass. I would consider a cheaper used model that I would not feel as bad about putting some extra$$ into to make it work as it should
  17. I must admit that I feel the same way about a gun that I do about a new car, TV, Washing Machine ect. If you brought home a new TV and it did not work right I can't imagine that would bring a smile to your face because now you get the chance to "tinker" with it to make it work? I understand the joy of working on things like old radios, old cars ect. However, when I buy something new in box I expect it to work as it should! Why can't Kahr engineer/ tweek/tinker with their $800+ guns before they send them out to unsuspecting buyers who think their high dollar piece of history will actually work? Why do you think those UGLY Glocks sell like crazy? It's because they work! Why do those fugly Rugers sell like hotcakes? Because they WORK! The thompson IMHO is a very nice looking gun! and yes I would love to have one. However, the more research I do the more I realize that in this case "beauty is only skin deep" I just can't bring myself to spend that kind of $$ and have a better than average chance of getting a lemon that needs to be "tinkered" with
  18. I would like to get a SA Kahr or WH thompson. However, I read many posts about questionable quality/reliability of the SA thompsons. Are the problems posted commonplace in the SA models or is it a case of the squeaky wheel gets the oil? I do not want to spend $800+ on a gun that I have to send back to the factory time and time again and then still not have it function the way it should http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/mad.gif I had a 1927A3 .22 years back and that gun was marginal at best, lots of failure to fires. I was told at the time that the .45s were much better? I have little tolerance with spending big$ on guns that have poor quality and function. As of this time I'm leaning toward NOT buying unless someone can talk me into it. I recently purchased a SA UZI and that gun works excellent in SA form. Wish I could say the same fo thompsons
