  1. Hi hrt4me, Thanks for posting these pictures. Could you post some detailed pictures of the front end of the receiver cavity please? I am particularly interested in how that area is machined out. I also have a question for anyone who is following this post, particularly current or past Colt owners. I have been wondering for a while now why at the top of the lock ramp that some of the tip of the ramp is machined off. I have attached a photo of Colt # 7580 highlighting this feature for reference. Of the original Colt manufacturing drawings that I have access to, I can’t find any reference to this feature. It also looks like this feature is also in the Colt that hrt4me last posted. Best Regards
  2. I'm in the Clearwater area. I could be in your area (Dade City) next weekend???? Does that work?
  3. giantpanda4, I'm interested in the 3 auction volumes if you don't want them. Let me know and I'll send a check for postage. Regards, Digger
  4. Thanks Guys. I have finished all of the metal parts of the 1921 drawings as per Tracie's wonderful tome TUTSMGB. Accuracy is as per these original Colt drawings. I was a little more 'flexible' with the stamped markings though but they are fairly representative. I would have liked to put a square end on the actuator slot but I need more detail to make it as authentic as possible. The 4 serial numbers included as are the barrel and receiver alignment markings. S/N 185 was a personal choice although there appears to be a typo in this entry in the serial # list of TUTSMGB. The most challenging parts I have found are the woodwork. These are still unfinished as I am not happy with my sculpting attempts to date. Maybe the 1919 and the 28 overstamp will be the next project. David, I would be more than happy if you want to pin them on the board. I will send you a comprehensive quality set once I get the woodwork to an acceptable level. Best Regards
  5. Guilty as charged. Thanks for the heads up guys. I can't be held responsible for these indiscretions while my wife is away. Seriously, I've been after this one for quite a while at a realistic price. Also, hope you enjoy these attachments. I have been teaching myself some CAD software recently. It is still a work in progress...
  6. Hello, I am looking for good quality photos of the General for my man cave. They will not be used commercially. The only photos I have at the moment I have sourced from the internet and was hoping that there are better ones out there in the MGB community. I am particularly interested in copies of the 2 attached ones. I am also interested in copies of any photos other than the attached ones of good quality. If you have any that you are willing to share (or sell for a fare price) please contact me at tombaythemist@gmail.com . Best Regards, Digger

  8. Does anybody have any sharp portrait images of any (recent) Doug Richardson 1921 engraved receivers that they can post please?
  9. I came across this website tonight and thought it was interesting. http://www.zdziarski.com/blog/?paged=4 I then Googled "Al Capone's machine gun" and found the following link, http://travelphotobase.com/v/USNYC/NYMP041.HTM ie another AC machine gun held by the NYPD Doe's anybody know anything of the authenticity of either of these guns? On a last note, I also came across this link of a miniature weapon website, apparently located in Russia(???), http://miniaturearsenal.com/miniature-weapons/submachine_guns/52-thompson_1921_drum.html Anybody know anything about this outfit or any of their gear? Regards, Digger
  10. Hello. I am new to the board although a long time observer. This is my first posting. I am looking for any information on the roll markings, surface finish and bluing on the original 1921 Colt TSMG’s. I am trying to reproduce these features as close as possible (except probably the bluing – a separate pursuit…). In particular, I am looking for any details on the finish eg what methods that may have been utilized to get the sanded(??) finish and (if sanded) what grit size and techniques may have used in the process etc etc. Regarding the roll marks, any estimates on the depth of the rolled text, logos and any other unique characteristics or information would be very helpful. I do not have access to an actual ’21 so any assistance you can give would be much appreciated. I do have most of the Thompson books etc that have been available over the last 4 years and constantly trawl the internet for good quality (close up) photos of the ‘21’s and information off this board. These are my only means of reference at this stage. Regards, Digger
