  1. Yes, feedback from Dave was that no auctions are allowed. Thanks for that feedback, Colt Chopper. In light of this I will offer the complete group of parts shown above for $550.00 + shipping costs. Regards, Digger
  2. With permission from Dave Albert I have on offer a group of WWII TSMG spare parts. There are 21 parts as shown in the attached photos. Item 21 is a 20-round magazine (1 off). All parts are generally in very good shape with two exceptions, 1. Item 4 – Actuator. It was probably dropped at some time on the front of the knurled grip knob resulting in some minor deformation. See close up photos. Apart from that the condition of the actuator is very good. Condition 8/10 est. 2. Item 19 – Buffer. Condition 3/10 After recently reviewing current market pricing on this site and elsewhere online for nearly all of the listed items I have determined a minimum price for the group. I am offering the complete group only to members of this site in my first attempt to sell these items. I want to offer the full group of 21 items only for sale to the best offer. The final offer should be submitted by next Saturday (24FEB2024). I will review offers on Sunday (25FEB2024) and follow up. Certainly, contact me if you have questions regarding any of the items. Payment by USPS Money Order. A donation to the Board will be made if the item is sold through the Board. Payment needs to clear before shipping. NFA rules apply. Best Regards, Digger
  3. Agreed Bob. It’s good to see a new generation backfilling the voids left by Doug Richardson et al, we need them. It’s also good that you appear to be mentoring benedw60 who sounds like he’s of a younger generation and as such may explain the vagueness of some of his responses in the recent posts due to that youth. The members of this website are top notch and 99 times out of 100 all feedback to the 1000’s of posts made are superb, amusing at times and respectful generally. But after reading your response this evening I looked back on benedw60’s history on this website and I see that some of his comments and feedback in previous posts were not always diplomatic (something about Tracie and a lizard) or friendly (regarding someone just posting of Thompson 3D models and the somewhat scathing unprompted feedback he received). There may be others too, I didn’t check them all. I put it down to maturity so you may need to work with him in this area…
  4. Hello Zoltar, Welcome to the site. If you're into Thompson's there's probably not a better one. I've looked around over the years to find good engineering drawings of the Thompson eg at Doug Richardson's old site (even bought a few of his drawing sheets) & nfatoys.com among others. The best drawings I found however were in Traci Hill's book "The Ultimate Thompson Book". That has reproductions of what appears to be original Colt engineering drawings and are the best available that I have seen. Definitely worthwhile for you to get the book. These were the drawings that I used for the models above which should make them pretty close to the mark unless I've error-ed anywhere. halftrack, Thanks for the feedback
  5. Here's another group of screen shots of some select model components for your amusement. There may be imperfections that I've overlooked. Constructive feedback always welcome
  6. Hi again mnshooter. I rummaged through my files of the ammunition model and found the primary files that I based the ammo model on. I liked the old drawing (45acp11) and the circumferential groove that is rolled around the shell in particular so I included that in the model. I've never seen any actual 45ACP's like that so I used it. I have also added screen shots of the ammo assembly to clarify. It's been interesting digging out these models. I worked on them around 10years ago.
  7. Thanks for your feedback and comments all. It was interesting. mnshooter, you have piqued my interest. I have never heard of 45GAP ammo before and looked it up, so I’ve learnt something out of this. I’ll have to go back and dig out the model files for the ammo and check. I thought it was 45ACP and the drawings were vintage but now you’ve got me thinking.
  8. Doug, you're right. In the view you are looking at it's an exploded view so the grip mount has moved relative to the barrel and it is around the 14th fin and is partly concealed by it. I have attached a sectioned side view with everything in its correct place which shows the grip mount contacting the 21st fin. You have a sharp eye.
  9. Kilroy, that was close. The Safety Lever has the hole through it as you can see in image 5. I have also attached the drawing detail of the hole through the Safety FYI. But you may have noticed the knurling that's supposed to be on the Rocker Pivot/Select Fire wasn't completed when I grabbed that screen shot. Well done.
  10. benedw60, Thanks for the feedback. I'm fairly confident my source material might be around the mark...
  11. I was tidying up one of my drives recently and came across some screen shots I'd snapped a few years ago when I was teaching myself to use some 3D modelling software. And what better subject matter is there than the TSMG to kick start things. 99% of the mechanical's were mostly modeled and assembled but I didn't complete the furniture models. I even threw some ammo into the equation. See if you can pick some of the 'not quite' completed items...and any errors!!!!! I'd be interested in those. And, enjoy your Thanksgiving.
  12. Does it have a square end on the actuator slot? Can you post a photo please?

  14. The bee with the Thompson looks like a young Dan Akroyd to me...back in the days when SNL was funny.
  15. Came across this one on YouTube, looked interesting...
  16. Please send photo of Lyman 1928 comp. I would be interested depending on condition. Thanks
  17. Just in case you missed it... https://www.americanrifleman.org/articles/2017/12/1/the-tommy-gun-in-country-the-thompson-smg-in-vietnam/
  18. Timkel, Your prints look great. Printed half scale? How did that affect the resolution of the finish? Have you printed any of the springs and finer parts e.g. extractor, ejector etc? Did the Lyman sight function at all? I haven't seen any 'Colt quality' vertical foregrip models yet. I'll have to revisit some of my earlier attempts, the sculpting is the challenge for me. Digger
  19. I'm looking for 3D printing files (.stl format or similar) for the 20 round box magazine as well as the vertical fore grip. If anybody has these and are ok to share or know where the find them it would be much appreciated. Regards, Digger
