Question: On original MP40's, was there a slot milled into the top of the receiver for the rear sight to sit in? I know they were spot welded into place, but I cannot find any info regarding a milled slot. The slot can't be very deep of course, but any help will be appreciated!

I am slowly adding to my impression, and don't have the funds to get an original WWII German magazine loader for the MP40. I have seen where IMA is selling a good looking reproduction. Has anyone here purchased one, and if so, does it function correctly? Is it reliable? Any replies or advice is greatly appreciated! I do apologize if this is in the wrong section.
