  1. Prices were ALOT higher than I thought they would go for esp when you add 15% for the auction house. Sometimes in the heat of bidding things can go overboard a bit.
  2. Agree, purchased a Colt Navy last year as described.
  3. Is this an original ordnance bomb mark? It doesn't look like the ones pictured in American Thunder II to me. When you enlarge the photo it looks almost gouged out? It's from additional pics of the 1928NAC for sale at Rock Island
  4. I've been looking for original military 1928 with "Tommy Gun" receiver stamp. One is for sale on Rock Island auction in Sept. but it is "NAC" marked. The upper and lower supposedly match but the receiver has been parked and lower and barrel are blued. The serial number stamp on receiver doesn't look as old as other markings to me. Is this gun legit or assembled??? http://www.rockislandauction.com/viewitem/aid/65/lid/1609
  5. top of the receiver?? Only some 1928 models? Savage, AO, or both?
  6. No makers marks I can see in the pictures? repro? http://www.ebay.com/itm/WWII-Era-US-Army-Canvas-Carry-Case-for-M1921-or-M1928-Thompson-SMG-Original/121557154921?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D29979%26meid%3D7104ab28ed1e4261b1f7c2894cb3680a%26pid%3D100011%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D1%26sd%3D141723474422
  7. may have be reblued? How much does this effect value?
  8. There is a small section with side by side pictures already posted under the "Thompson Accessories" section at the beginning of the forum. It's about 3/4 down the page next to the oiler section. It looks like the fake rod had square edges??? Real rod had one square and one round. The patch slot was almost twice as far away from cleaning head on the fake one. Based on that the ebay rod may have been real deal??
  9. them. Most of the military stocks I've seen have a flat dip in the buttstock just behind the receiver but I've also seen some where the dip is very curved. Is there any significance to the two styles?
  10. After taking the foregrip off it looks like there is a "W" or "M" on the flat rear surface near the receiver??
  11. If so, where at? My late production Savage M1A1 seems to have correct buttstock with stamped sling swivel also arsenal mark O.G. The foregrip has a milled swivel which I assume is replacement but I'm not sure if the foregrip wood is replacement also.
  12. I have a late 772,000 production Savage M1A1. The stock has a stamp of "O.G." Has anyone seen this before and/or knows what it stands for? Arsenal refinish location?
  13. This should be a bigger version to read the caption. Just click the picture to enlarge.
  14. It's a 28 Navy overstamp made in 1922. Does anyone know of a source for original colt drum mags? Price range?
  15. I'm a beginner at Thompson collecting and looking for either Savage 1928 WWII or Colt Thompson. I was wanting to ask the boards opinion on a couple of guns. David Spazak has one of each on his web site that looked good but I don't have enough experience with Thompsons to be certain. One is a WWII savage in good condition but upper and lower do not match listed as item #028. Good one for collection or wait for a matching numbers gun??? The other is a Colt listed under item # 751. Good example for collection? Fair price? web address is: www.davidspiwak.com/Gun_Inventory.htm
  16. 32,000 on gunbroker. I believe these were postwar and had milled receiver like the 1985 ERMCO. Does anyone know when the Chasan guns were made or have any info on them?
  17. Here is ebay link for the leather sling. http://www.ebay.com/itm/WWII-Reising-Sub-Machine-Gun-Leather-Sling-/271160392050?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f226b3972 I picked one up awhile back after discussion with David who feels they are legit Reising slings. I'm not sure if they all were purely commerical or if some were also used by military. Maybe David can add some more info on this. Still looking for legit canvas sling
  18. Here are photocopies of the original Full Auto magazine 3 page article. Also included copy of an original 1983 ad showing initial price. Sounds like the ERMCO was made to the highest quality possible.
  19. I was lucky enough to get a really nice ERMCO BAR recently. It's tough to find a lot of info on these. There is a short description in the book -Between Rock and Hard Place. I've been told there was a complete article done on them in the 1985 "Full Auto" magazine. Does anyone have or know where a copy could be found?....................scott
