Weasel that appears to be real alligator, I'm soooo jealous. I'll have to spend around $400 on corocodile hides to cover the outside of mine. The construction on mine was real easy, time consuming but easy. I simply took the case apart and reglued all the cracks and corners for streangth and out lined the case on foam board that is normally used for insulation. Cut out templates to fit the inside of the case then outlined the gun parts on the templates (making sure first the layout would fit into the case). Put the inserts with the gun/parts cut out (with a drywall saw) in the case, layed velvet on top and pressed the gun pieces into place and then tucked everything in around the edges. A little elmers glue here and there and voila! I will post some pictures and some up dated photos as well. In the photo with the pink top you can see the foam used for the case, built in layers to achieve the right thickness. This was the the original layout I had with both recievers on one side and all the grips and mag in the top, but decided it involved too many steps taking off the horizontal foregrip and putting all the pieces of the gun together so decided on the setup in my final design. Now you just snap the upper and lower recievers together and your done. If anybody needs help in constructng their own, I'd be happy to help, just email and I can go into detail and give you some pointers on what doesn't work. This was my 3rd design/setup on the interior before I got it right, now every thing is very sturdy and snug as a bug in a rug. P.S. Be sure to reinforce the handles to support the weight. The case is just the wooden type violin case from the 1900s you see with hook latches and a thin brass handle, it's somewhere around 31" in length.
