  1. I went back to the range Sunday. Started off just like Saturaday. I couldn't miss, until second mag. I started missing just a little. Sometime left then right. I finally figured out problem. Rear sight had lost two screws and the other two where about to go. The guy I bought my Kahr from had lost one when I bought it from him. Then I lost one before I had it SBRed. Ordered two from Kahr. I red loctied all of them after cleaning with brake cleaner. Now two more are gone. MY QUESTION IS! Can I find rivets that will work like the old ones used? AND WHERE? http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/sad.gif
  2. I'll post some as soon as my camera gets back home.
  3. Got my Kahr Clone back last night. It looks great and I was truely surprised when I went to the range today. I was afraid that it would not be as accurate as it was with the 16.5 in. barrel. All I can say is at fifty yards anything lying on the ground was placed some where else. At 100 yards I was hitting a 9 in. paper plate 8 out of 10 shots avg., it's semi-auto of course. I bought the Kahr M1 from a fellow in Kansas. He said he had about 200 rounds thru it. I put about 100 rounds before the barrel change. I shot about another 100 today. My lead reloads. Still after 3 months, I haven't gotten my credit for the junk barrel I bought . My last e-mail from them was to call them Monday and give my credit card info again. They cann't locate the first bill. moleman
  4. QUOTE (javlin @ Sep 8 2006, 09:20 AM) I have aquired a WH that I would like to make into a legal SBR.I have read some post about crappy barrels out there and that these WH still may need some fine tuning to work probably.I see alot of these kits from overseas and they are kinda pricey but I could get some GI parts for the WH.Have any of you guys done this before to get parts? Also what is this deal about the barrels being undercut(?) and pinned.I notice this mostly on the UK kits I think?A link for one such kit from Russia http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem....p?Item=55958889 And a new AUTO Ordance barrel?I am a little skeptical on this one maybe I should not be. http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem....p?Item=55960830 Your bottom link is where I bought the "crappy barrel" see thread. He's not in NC he's in Fl..
  5. I mailed the barrel back with a note to exchange for a new correctly made barrel or a credit to my cc less his orginal shipping cost.
  6. May be I should have stayed with 16.5 barrel. The only thing is, it grouped great, but there is a slight bulge about 6 inches beyond the chamber. When I finally got the barrel cleaned up after purchase is when I found it. My gunsmith said if not for that, he could have made the SBR out of it. With the addition of a sleve for the front sight.
  7. Thanks guys...I feel I've learned more in two days than in the prevous 6 months since I bought the used KAHR. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/hail.gif I'll let you know where the barrel came from if he doesn't make it good. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/soapbox.gif
  8. Thanks Grey Crow and PhilO...P.O. I know what you mean..timing..if I had not bought my lake house in 1985 I could not live where I am now. Paid $21,000.00 in 1985 ,now a lot costs $300,000.00 to $400,000.00. Guess I missed the ad for barrel here, but I think Coles has an excellent marked one for $275.00. I'll give them a call later this morning. moleman
  9. Thanks PhilOhio...I'll start searching for that barrel thread. AND thanks to all those that have made comments. I was about to think that us KAHR owners were own our own. All of us love the THOMPSON, but some of us have a beer budget. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/woot.gif
  10. QUOTE (Norm @ Sep 6 2006, 04:38 PM) QUOTE He says all he needs to do is heat up the receiver and the barrel will thread on.... Did he also suggest using a pipe wrench and/or hammer?! Get a refund! Norm Thanks guys.....I hope I'm not going to get the run around on getting either a refund or swap.....Where are all these barrels hiding that you mention???He said that he gets his barrels from the same manufacture that KAHR uses.
  11. Got my Sbr form 1 and ordered a new???barrel from a guy in Florida. Took said barrel to my smith. He EMAILS me this morning saying the barrel has many tool marks in chamber that might efect ejection, also the threads might need chasing to get it to thread on and last but not least, he says the rifling towards the muzzle end are faint and also has tool marks. I EMAILED the guy I bought it from and he says my smith knows nothing about installing a Thompson barrel. He says all he needs to do is heat up the receiver and the barrel will thread on....MAYBE SO....but what about the other problems????? WHAT SHOULD I DO???REFUND OR SWAP???
  12. I received my second SBR on a form 1. this one is for a used Kahr TM1 I bought about 6 months ago. The hardest part is getting a CLEO sign off. This one took about 28 days mailbox to mailbox. Now all I've got to do is find a good 10.5in. barrel. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/woot.gif
  13. Thanks brian! http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/hail.gif
  14. My SBR form 1 came this morning(28 days turnaround). 1st question. Will older (WW2 or WH) barrels fit the Kahr M1 model. 2nd. Other than auction sites on-line where can I find a good buy on a 10.5in. barrel. Thanks in advance for any and all help.
