  1. They are sold out right now on the $40 lowers. There was and has been continued panic buying of AR type stuff for several weeks now which has depleted inventory and driven the prices up, but you can still get a fully finished lower for under $60. www.kygunco.com They do have others in stock from $55. Several on Gunbroker.com for under $60. ttp://www.gunbroker.com/item/570309886
  2. One of the 50 BMG AR-15 upper makers tested a single AR-15 lower with several thousand rounds some years ago with zero problems. As I recall they measured the takedown pin locations before and after and there was less than 0.0005 change if my memory is correct. Even if your lower was stretched out to the point you couldn't use it for an AR-15 platform, it would probably still work fine underneath a 50 BMG upper since all you need from it is to strike the firing pin, hold your buttstock and pistol grip. I have owned about 8 different 50 BMG AR-15 uppers over the years and none of them did anything negative to my AR lowers. The upper is what contains the cartridge and takes all the pressure. The price of a lower is nothing compared to the other stuff you need so get two or 3 if you are worried. I am still seeing them for $40 completely finished. I have several Safety Harbor uppers that are ready to ship if you need one. The only one that is out of stock is the 29" mag fed model. www.LongRangeSupply.com http://www.longrangesupply.com/store/50-bmg-ar-15-uppers-accessories/safety-harbor-shtf-50-bmg-upper-conversions-for-ar-15-lowers.html

  6. These might be old news for most of you, but for some reason my first look at these new scopes. I don't pay much attention to the $5000 models so it slipped by me when released. Two of them offer a bluetooth display that can show the output from various devices inside the eyepiece, such as distance and holdover / windage clicks. The bluetooth setup is open source so anyone can create a device to talk to it - something as simple as an Android ballistic app could easily be made to send data into the scope. They have a 9 times zoom range - 3x - 27x and 5x to 45x, the latter being pretty decent for a long range 50 BMG, but no bluetooth on that one. 64 MOA of elevation but only 14 windage? That limited windage travel could be a big problem on some of my guns. One would think that with a 34mm tube they would have more than 14 MOA of windage. The March 5-50x has 40 MOA of windage, though it is a 2nd focal plane model and these all appear to be 1st focal planes. March's 3-24x FFP has 100 MOA of elevation and windage, but is an 8x zoom range rather than 9x. Bluetooth deal also available in the 5-25x PM II model. http://www.schmidtundbender.de/en/new-products/3-27x56-pm-ii-high-power-digital-bt.html http://www.schmidtundbender.de/en/new-products/5-45x56-pm-ii-high-power.html From S&B's site The 3-27x56 PM II High Power Digital BT was developed with a view to optimising the shooter's situation. It combines all the features of a regular riflescope with the modern options of digital technology: Information from compatible external devices - laser rangefinders, ballistics computers, etc - can be projected into the shooter's field of view at the touch of a button. With all the necessary information for target recognition available, the shooter is able to concentrate on his task. Apart from the modified ocular head, the riflescope remains unchanged in its functions and can be used in the same way as before - without any external devices. http://www.schmidtundbender.de/images/stories/polizei/277-911-522-B2-A8-PMII-Digital-BT-5-25x56-sr_650.png Specs: Weight (g) 1244 Length (mm) 407 Tube diameter (mm) 34 Magnification 3.0-27.0x Objective lens diameter (mm) 56 Field of view (m) 13.0 - 1.4 Exit pupil (mm) 8.7 - 2.1 Eye relief distance (mm) 90 Twilight factor 13.0 - 38.9 Transmission 90 Focal plane 1. 8. Once this site and the new sturmgewehr.com one are up and fully running, will I need to pay a fee to place any items I am offering for sale here in the 50 Cal forum or just at sturmgewehr.com? If yes, what will the fees be here? I looked but could not find a list of membership fees for non commercial or commercial accounts on sturmgewehr.com. Do you have that fee structure worked out yet and is there a link showing it? Everything is looking great. Thanks for all the efforts. Don www.LongRangeSupply.com
  9. As some of you may already know, Kelbly's is no longer the US importer for March optics. Sad news unfortunately. They were a great crew to deal with. That being said, we are still able to get March products, so if there is something you need, give me a shout. www.LongRangeSupply.com Please note our NEW phone number: 385-200-1950 Also, if anyone is interested in the Kahles scope line, let me know. I am considering setting up a dealership with them.
  10. My most accurate loads in every 50 I have owned have been with the Amax and H50BMG.
  11. I was not able to view any of the forums on the site when logged in, but if I logged out I could see them all. ( No posting of course in either mode.)
  12. You might want to post one final comment at the top of the old 50 cal board to help people find this new one. I didn't see the notification of the change for several days as my attention was not drawn to the top of the page since I never look there when logging in. I probably never would have noticed it other than when I tried to post a new topic it wouldn't let me, which got me looking closer at it. If you put the link to the new board in a post with a title like "50 Cal Board moved to new location" I am guessing you will see more people finding this one. Additionally, once I signed up I couldn't even look at any of the forums here until my membership was approved. That was kind of confusing. I had to sign out then come back to the forum to see the existing posts. I understand not allowing posts for yet to be approved members, but I don't see any reason to block the viewing of posts by newly registered but not yet approved members since anyone who is not registered can see them.
