  1. would a heavier buffer help?
  2. I am new to machine guns. I recently purchased a M16. I built a 16-inch upper so I don't wear out the original upper. The 16-inch works fine. I built a 10-inch upper using a MegaArms Monolithic upper receiver. The upper runs fine on a standard lower. Taking the full auto BCG from the 16-inch upper and installing it in the 10-inch upper, the 10-inch won't cycle the M16. Just one round will fire. Any idea what the problem might be?
  3. Awaiting my M16. I built an upper so I don't wear out the orig barrel. I got a keyloc handguard, added rails and rail covers to protect my hand from the heat. Problem is that the circumference is quiet large. Will the Magpul Moe handguards stay cool under full auto fire? Any other suggestions?
  4. The ring sounds like a good reason to go with my dedicated 22 upper. I didn't know about that. Thanks for the info.
  5. My M16 will be here in a month or so ( I hope.) I have a Spikes dedicated AR upper for 22, as well as the CMMG conversation kit. I also have CMMG's anti bounce weight and auto trip sear. Is the upper or conversion better for use in an M16 in full auto? Does it matter?
  6. I am new to Class III. Do I need to keep ATF forms for SBRs, suppressors and full auto on me when off my property ?
  7. Don't overlook the .300 AAC Blackout. It is a great round for an M16 owner. Curl Yes, I have 300blk, but too expensive to run through a machine gun!
  8. That what I though, thanks for the confirmation.
  9. I have an FFL and SOT. I have a SBR in my trust. Since the SBR is not owned by my FFL, do I still need to notify the ATF when I want to transport to another state?
  10. Pretty much the same as I what I will be doing. I will run 5.56 and 22. I have a 22 dedicated Spikes upper as well as the CMMG 22 conversion also, along with the parts to run full auto. Given the cost these days, I doubt I will get a another full auto. M16 was really my only choice given its versatility and the ability to run my current uppers. I was looking at the HK53, but I would alway still yearn for a M16, so why bother with the HK. The Uzi does look fun too though.
  11. Agreed! An since I am knowledgeable on the AR15, working on it is easy
  12. The caliber and lengths on the form is what concerned me. I plan on keeping the original equipment so I will be able to change back if needed/wanted.
  13. Thanks for the welcome and help to all! I plan on replacing the rifle buffer tube and bufferer with carbine versions, and running a new 16" length upper. Any thing else I need to so to for it to run reliably?
  14. New to full auto ownership and new to the Board. I just purchased a transferable M16. I want to use a modern upper so I don't wear out the original barrel. I was told that I can change caliber and barrel length without issue. Just wanted to confirm that is correct? Thanks in advance, David
