I took the plunge just before Christmas and purchased "my" M50. My first SMG, one that I could afford - I was nervous/hesitant after I purchased it, but given the magazines and other accessories included in the purchase, I'm tickled. eForm paperwork is complete and my wait begins.
The weapon appears to be in great condition and came with four NIW Christie 30 round magazines, one original early 20 round H&R magazine and one Taiwanese 20 round magazine. The purchase also came with a spare titanium firing pin and two sealed Christie spring kits, a leather sling, magazine loader and other small parts (five ejectors and screws, late model take-down screw, and a bag of small assorted springs). The serial number shows it to be a 1941 manufactured weapon.
My dealer said to bring ammo and I am welcome to shoot it anytime at his home range. As soon as the weather warms (I live in MT) and I can find my .45 ACP ammo stash I am going to take him up on the offer. I've spent a lot of time here trying to absorb the wealth of knowledge/experience related to the lifetime owners and will continue to do so. For that I am appreciative and it has helped me take the plunge.
Anything I need to know before I put my first round down range (lol, such a loaded question!).
Thanks to all here who have shared their knowledge and experience here - I almost skipped this purchase after reading about the massive problems some have had with their Reising. This blog and the posts helped me "pull the trigger" with confidence that I can find the remedies I need for issues/problems I may face with this weapon. I just hope this M50 runs and I did not purchase someones problem gun?
