  1. Hey Guys, My only points will be the following--- 1) We have taken down the page for the new drums for now. After legal review this may change, or may not. 2) No reasonable person would ever mistake these as being THOMPSON brand products. 3) We get these sorts of letters from time to time. Nothing new. We tend to comply with reasonable requests and act in good faith. 4) Was shocked to find out that SAEILO ENTERPRISES / KAHR ARMS / AUTO-ORDNANCE is a Unification Church / Moonie / Sun Yung Moon Front Company. You can see this for yourself at this url: http://www.freedomofmind.com/resourcecente...es_us_front.htm Your throughts?
  2. Hey Guys, Since there has been such lively discussion on here, I thought I'd share the following with you. As these images are large, I will follow up with a reply that has some information. < Large Image Removed Better Copy Below > < Large Image Removed Better Copy Below >
  3. Hey Guys, Wanted to start a new thread and let you guys know that we've got things in line for another shipment of drums. Here is the information: 1) We are bringing in 500 drums in the next shipment. Likely we will receive 300 with the balance coming 30 days later. 2) We are taking reservations for drums at the following url: http://www.keepshooting.com/notifications/...mpson-drums.htm 3) Reservations DO NOT require a deposit. You only put your name on the list saying you are interested in purchasing one or more drums. 4) There will be *NO* price increase for the next shipment. I have assurances on that. Like everything in business, I can't guarantee the boss will hold the price at $199.95 after this order arrives. 5) As of 3/2/2007 2:11PM approximately 12% of the next shipment has been reserved. 6) I have been told to anticipate an end of April delivery for the next batch. They could come sooner than that, or could be a week or two into May. Now, I have a few questions: 1) We will likely be bringing in some spare parts at the request of a customer. If you have any interest in things like perhaps extra keys or perhaps a replacement cover, please contact me. 2) If you ordered a drum from us from the first shipment and had any issues with delivery, please contact me. I know of atleast one person who had a shipping delay, and want to make sure we get everyone taken care of. Thank you! -Brian
  4. Hey Guys-- I have some more information for you-- 1) These drums are brand new -- not made with any tooling that was given by any country. All tooling was made by the manufacturer within the last year. So while it makes for fun discussions online, there is really nothing to it. Manufacturer designed them for commercial market, and never made them for military. 2) robbo -- Can you shoot me a message with what you needed to do to tweak your drum? The manufacturer is very interested in hearing all feedback. So if there was something you can share, I would love to pass it along. 3) We are basically sold out of drums. As soon as its been confirmed that the last ones have shipped, we will start a waiting list for the next import. 4) Manufacturer received all information that was provided to us. Was especially interested in PhilOhio's suggested improvements. In fact the message we got from them was "Tell Mr. PhilOhio We Thank Him For Suggested Improvements. We Will Study Them To Make Thompson Mag The Best Available" So I'd look for improvements with subsequent production runs. Thanks, -Brian
  5. Hey Guys -- Just wanted to check in and see what was new before I went to bed. Have a couple of points-- 1) robbo -- Please let me know if you want to swap out your drum. If you can't tweak it, I will hold one in case you want to swap it out. 2) Inventory numbers you see do not reflect pending orders. Best as I can tell we will be sold out of drums at some point tomorrow! I would expect that if we have any left it will be less than 10. So if you'd like one and don't want to wait, get your orders in tonight. 3) I should have some information early this week about size and details of the next shipment. I would expect it to be LARGE, but do not know how large or exact time frames yet. The boss has given me the okay to post here once all of the details are worked out. I asked about a price increase, and was told "it isn't in the cards" so we may have $199.95 drums for atleast a few more months after the next shipment :-) Thank you!! -Brian
  6. Hey Guys-- Thought you might like to see the other video that came in. The gentleman who made it reads this board, I will leave it up to him as to whether or not he wants to take credit for his work. I think he should, it's short and sweet clip :-) Here is the link: http://www.keepshooting.com/videos/full-au...to-crosby-2.avi The same gentleman took pictures of his Crosby next to an original A/O drum. We had fun playing guess which drum is which, they look nice like long lost cousins :-) Enjoy, and if the creator of the video is reading this THANK YOU AGAIN!!! -Brian
  7. Hey Guys-- We had our afternoon meeting and went over what response we were getting from drum customers. Here are some updates-- 1) I spoke to a very nice gentleman from this board who had a problem with his. As soon as we receive his, we will be shipping to the manufacturer for evaluation. 2) Out of the last case of 40 drums, over 80% of them were sold to repeat customers. Very encouraging statistic. 3) I have confirmation that this is the first production run that has been done with these drums. So with that in mind, I do believe that we will only see improvements with the next batch. We continue to solicit comments for improvements, and will hope to see them incorporated with future production runs. 4) Our in house translator will be returning from vacation on Monday, so I would expect there to be some information available next week as to time frame for more drums, etc. Thank you, -Brian
  8. Hey Guys-- Congrats Lancer!!! You did a great job. The only thing I may need to get from you is the video in another format other than Flash, but am not sure yet. I will get everything in to ship your drum as soon as possible! I spoke to one other person on the phone who was looking to make a video after we hung up. If you end up making a video as well, I will bend the bosses arm until he lets me give you one too. To everyone else, contest is closed! If you want to however share a video, I'd love to see one. Thanks guys! -Brian
  9. Hey Chopper, Thank you for sharing your experience! We're starting to see similar reports trickle in, and couldn't be happier. Now get back to the range, video it, and win this free drum :-) -Brian
  10. Hey Guys, I am just checking in after our afternoon meeting. Have a few things--- 1) Interord - You should have received a tracking number for two new drums, along with a return postage slip to send the drum back that you had issues with. An export permit has been submitted to send the returned drum for evaluation, and I'm certain it will receive thorough examination by the manufacturer. 2) We are starting to get feedback from drums that have been received and shot by customers. So far two customers have called and placed orders for more drums. This is a good sign :-) While I do not know if they bought from this thread or the post at Sturm.com, but soon we will see more feedback I'm sure. Now here is what I want to put out. I spoke to the boss today, and got approval to make an offer on this thread. Here is what we are looking for: A high quality video clip of a full auto drum dump Permission to add our URL watermark and post on our website Your order number for your drum purchase Who ever reads this and is the first to provide all three things, we will ship them a free drum as "payment" for the time spent making the video clip. A few things: a) Determination as to whom was "first" will be done by the time stamp on your reply to this thread with everything we need to download the video. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/cool.gif If you do not have web space to load the video, it can be sent via email to video@keepshooting.com. However you need to post on THIS THREAD to have your video counted. Simply state you emailed the video. c) If you were one of the beta testers of the drums and already got a freebie, your not eligible for another. Sorry :-) Want to keep things open to people. Thanks guys, and I'm hoping someone gets a free drum today :-) -Brian
  11. Hey Guys-- Just checking in one last time before I call it a night. Here are a few things-- 1) TSMGgun, I am not 100% certain on the story behind how these were designed. I'm assuming that they did their work with a set of blueprints, but do not know that for sure. If I can get any back story, I will certainly share it. 2) Norm, thank you for your business. I'll be anxious to hear the results from your gun! That must be a blast to shoot at that speed. 3) Drums are being shipped the same day the order is being placed. As a side note, we try and ship everything we can ship the same day the order is received. So generally if you order before 4pm, anything we've got in stock will ship the same day. I know how much fun it is to get stuff you order online quick, so we have always tried to deliver the kind of service we'd like to have given to us. While sometimes we don't meet our goal, overall we do pretty okay :-) -Brian
  12. Hey Guys, I got on here to see if anyone had got their drums yet. We had our afternoon meeting, and one of the phone staff mentioned that an order was placed by someone who had received theirs and immediately wanted another. So I took that as a good sign, and am happy to have seen the reviews thus far. I have a couple of things-- 1) PhilOhio -- You are the man, I appreciate you taking the time you took to evaluate the drum and post such a detailed evaluation. We have a lot of other stuff coming in on the horizon, and you may find yourself with some samples for eval :-) I will be passing along your comments to my contact, and will see what they think of your recommendations. 2) hardrede -- If any ATF agent called and asked where the drums were made, even if someone told them Iran it wouldn't matter. The import permit displays the correct country of manufacture, and the country can be matched up with airline manifest for customs clearance. No worries, mate. 3) inertord -- Feel free to contact me directly thru the forum if you have any problems that cannot be resolved. We are keeping a small number of drums to handle any issues that may arise, and we want to make sure everyone is happy with their purchase. 4) Realistically we have perhaps 65 drums left. If we committed to import another batch, the soonest we would be able to get them would be 6 months. So if you want one, don't wait too long. Thank you! -Brian
  13. Hey Guys, Some of you might be interested in reading this. This is from one of the full auto beta testers: ___begin message____ Brian, I tested the Thompson drum today with 600 rounds. The drum was tested using Wolf ammo at 52 degrees winding to 9 clicks. See answer to your questions below. Hey , Thank you so much for offering to beta test these new Thompson drum magazines. I am sending one sample to you today for your testing and evaluation, the tracking number for the delivery is . Here is what I would like to have tested--> 1) How does the drum fit in your Thompson? Does it fit like your other drums? I tried the drum in a model 1921 Colt Thompson and a model 1928 WWII Auto Ordnance Thompson. It fits like my WWII drum in each gun. 2) Does the drum function in semi-auto? Try at least two full 50rd semi dumps. I fired 3 50rd drums in semi in the 28 Auto Ordnance Thompson with no problems. 3) Does the drum function in full-auto? Try atleast two full 50rd full auto dumps. I fired 3 50rd drums in full auto in the Auto Ordnance Thompson. The first was fired in burst of 3 to 5 shots with no problems. The next 2 drums were fired in full auto in one continuous run with no problems. Some things to consider: 1) I know nothing about full auto Thompsons, so if yours is full-auto only obviously semi auto testing isn't going to happen :-) Tested in Full auto with no problems. 2) If you experience any failures, please try the drum with less than 50 rounds to see if that makes a difference No failures were experience. What I'd really like to hear: 1) tell's me your quite the Thompson fanatic. I'd like to know what you think of the drum overall, and compare it to your experiences with other drums. Anything you see that does not look right, let me know. Anything you think could be improved, let me know. If its perfect as is, let me know. The fit and finished of the drum are good. I tried your drum lid on my WWII drum and it fit fine. The lid from my WWII drum would not fit right on your drum. I don’t see a problem with this. I think the drum look good and performed well. If you need any more information please let me know. What I've done is included a return Fedex ticket with the box. If the drum does not function, the tag can be used to send it back. If the drum works well and you can get me some good useful feedback you can keep it for your collection as it will be well worth it to us to see it tested :-) _____end message______ Needless to say, all beta tested drums were kept :-) I'm hoping in a few days we'll see lots of similar experiences posted here :-) FYI, a dealer bought 50 of these today so we're probably be sold out completely in 2-3 days but will be able to point you to the dealer who bought 50 if he's got them left. -Brian
  14. Hey Guys, I had a few extra cycles to spare, so I decided to look up the board here and see if anyone had gotten their drums yet. I'd expect many to show up today, had USPS been delivering yesterday many would have gotten them then. Couple of things--- I pulled the import permit for these drums, they were made in Taiwan. They have no connection to China. The enterprise that made them makes ordnance for Taiwan's national arsenal as well as supplying foreign countries and commercial markets. They are a publicly traded company, in business for over 30 years. They make everything up to parts for tanks and howitzers. I will post a redacted copy of the Form 6 later today showing approval and country of origin. -Brian
