Ok, I'll post. This is my first attempt, hopefully the picture is decent. It's an MP-43 dated 44, serial # 70XX "F" block in script. All matching except barrel. It is a Haenel gun, code fxo. If the barrel has been replaced post war, it sure was expertly done. Very few marks on the gun. The gun was advertised as 90%, maybe its that high. There are serial number markings & WAA's on most major parts including the rod, bolt, receiver and stock mount. I highly reccomend getting one if you are bitten by the bug. I have no regrets. Making & reloading the ammo just adds to my enjoyment, lets me interact with the hobby without getting bored. I looked for about a year, considered a Thompson but this seemed more exotic somehow. One neat thing about this gun is the almost total lack of recoil and complete simplicity of the design. I bought the gun from reputable dealers who were listed as "good" guys on the boards. A totally positive experience. The transfer took 5 months. The story behind the gun is that the vet who brought it home actually shot the German infantryman carrying the thing. When he got it home he registered the wepon, but asked the local sheriff to keep it for him. It was kept in the Sherrif dept's vault for 45 years until it was sold to the dealer who sold it to me. Maybe the PD storage is partly responsible for condition. I have proven loading components / amounts that I have actually used in the weapon with positive results if anyone is interested. The only other thing I could add is that you do not have to go CIII to enjoy collecting. I have an all matching G43 that is just as wonderful for a fraction of the cost. If they could only talk!!! I highly reccommend Peter Senich's book on German assault rifles, Frank's American Thunder, and definitely Hitler's Garands by Darrin Weaver.
