I have one but i'm in Florida for the winter. I will be home in April.

BTW , are you running a one piece end cap / guide or a two piecer ? I solved most of my functioning problems with new springs and a two piece end cap and spring guide.
Chris
What do you mean by "End Cap"? I am not very savvy with regard to these terms. I have found and ordered the Spring Kit, thanks for the info.

It's #5 & #107 on the schematic in the following link.

Thanks Pete A. ,
I appreciate the help. Hopefully this will cure my problem. I like the little rifle and it is remarkably accurate. It appears to have been used very little.

I should have my parts this week to perhaps cure the feeding issues. I look forward to the project.

Do you think Repros would sell? I think they would.
Pete Wass,
There is no doubt some would sell. However, I think you're talking about a market of between 20 and 50 pieces, tops....in my opinion...

I am too old now to get involved in a project such as this. I would like to have one of the origionals though. I talked to someone a few years ago who had one for sale for a few thousand and I didn't think it to be worth thousands. Probably better to find a stockmaker to cobble one up from the spare stock I have. I wouldn't care about the folding stock if it isn't origional. I only want the long pistol grip. I was thinking perhaps other folks might like just that, no folding stock.

No repros that I'm aware of. Originals are mostly on guns. They do turn up from time to time , usually off of a 55 found without paperwork in an attic .
I looked for years for a nice M55 and all the nice ones were not for sale and the beyond crappy ones were $8-10,000.
Finally found a nice stock that came off a widow's attic find , owner was never going to sell it , $2,000 changed his mind.
Late serial # M50 ( which would've been marked M50 even if a M55 ) for $4,000 , $125 to cut and recrown the bbl , $2,000 for the stock , and a couple hundred to have it all refinished to match.
Under $6400 for a now minty M55.

I have considered having one made by a stock maker. Do you think Repros would sell? I think they would. I bought one of the M1 Carbine Paratrooper stocks from Cheaper than Dirt and it is amazingly well made and true to the origional. Also is of a great piece of wood' too good for a GI Rifle.

Are there any Model 55 stocks available, either origional or repros? I bought a full length stock with the idea of making a conversion but am not much of a woodworker.
Thanks,
Pete

I have a very good model 50 that sometimes does not close fully on live rounds while cycling through a string of fire. Otherwise, the rifle works fine. I was wondering if, perhap, the "recoil" spring may need to be replaced or have a stronger one fitted?
I also recently read about and saw pictures of a mod to 1911 feed ramps that seemed like it may be beneficial to the Reising. Any thoughts on changing the angle on the Reising loading ramp?
Something else I noticed: I believe the magazine well on my Reising is offset quite a bit. Is it suppose to be this way or is there a problem with it? It would seem to me that if it is indeed offset, that may be causation of the sometimes failure to close on a live round. Opinions appreciated.
