TSMGguy
I'd have expected guns of this vintage to have knurled actuators, pivots, and safeties. Someone has likely switched these parts out for the later smooth variety.
Gunner1928
You don't think some one would do such a thing? Ya right.. Bob
Bridgeport28A1
I would expect AO ( Bridgeport plant) serial numbered smg's in the 78,000 serial number range to have finned barrels, adjustable Lyman rear sight and smooth paddle rocker pivots and safeties. Speeddemon02
I'm not entirely sure how close the serial number range between AO and Savage were, but would expect them to be in the same ballpark range. Please correct me if I'm wrong. The Savage I'm waiting for (in the 82,000 serial range) looks identical to these. In any case nice find, just too bad that they and the rest of them had to be chopped up.
anjong-ni
I see that item -6578 kit sold for $2000. It was a decent saw cut upper, but a nasty de-mil job on the barrel and hole on top of the receiver. Someone drilled a hole in the lower receiver too. One stamped and one milled sling swivel, plain actuator, so not exactly virgin material but it will make a nice display...Phil
