  1. Thanks for the replies, will check those out and hope the double rifle transit goes smoothly.
  2. I am looking for recommendations on who to use to import firearms from the UK to the US. Never thought I ever be at this point, but here I am and trying to get familiar with all this. Hoping to find someone knowledgeable and helpful. The last one I tried contacting was giving a very dismissive attitude and not looking forward to dealing with them.
  3. I was looking at the receiver markings and while it has everything, the locations, mismatching finishes, drum cuts, etc all seem a bit off like this is a new receiver and not original.
  4. Its been a while, but I am guessing its a post sample made from a parts kit or am I that off?
  5. I got one of the last Gemtech marked Viper 45s before they were sold and moved. It is really nice and very light. GSL essentially is the old Gemtech and if you can get one then I would have no doubt is would be just as good.
  6. I have added everything for each submission. I have had both luck with not attaching everything to multiple items and been contacted with a request for the missing item(s) to continue the process.
  7. I got a never fired Beretta M1 in 7.62 NATO, it was extremely tight and needed to be lubbed/oiled just a bit to get the stock off. Fit to the extreme. With that in mind each step got easier, but still needed the same type of attention and was not quick or parts falling off on their like it had been a bunch of times prior.
  8. Got 2 stamps back right around 10.5 months
  9. Not to make this sound ridiculous, but i'll give a try anyhow. Some time ago the most recent thread about who to use for insurance came up and I contacted both the top two most recommended for a quote. They came back with such a high number that I could have bought the entire collection again in just over a decade. My house is worth twice as much and pay way less and I understand that that is not a fair or equal shake at it, but the cost analysis did work out in either of their favor.
  10. That is good to hear, I had an eye on a part that he had, but did not see it listed, so I will check back in hopes that it gets listed.
  11. I just picked up one of their converted M1897 Trench Gun and want to say that what I got was gorgeous and everyone at the range commented positively on it. I picked up an original bayonet to go along with it and could not be happier with it. It is a good shooter grade compromise between an all original that was used in the war, but not a rough foreign copy.
  12. Saw a post on Arfcom by Griffin Armament. They made a mount that attaches to the Cutts Comp. Surprised they did not post it here first. https://www.ar15.com/forums/armory/I-ll-bet-you-ve-never-seen-a-suppressed-unmodified-1928A1-Thompson-before-/20-504204/?r=-1&page=1&anc=5193691#i5193691
  13. Even HKs are down. Saw a fleming sear married to a cut barrel 94 go for 30k recently.
  14. Getting closer, but doubt it will get that low. An HK sear recently did sell at 27.5
  15. I forgot about that. I have terrible luck with stuff like that. I send a copy of the trust with each one. It works so I am not going to stop. At this point using a credit card instead of a check has gotten more rejections than anything else.
  16. He does great work and as far as I am aware the only way to get one in calibers other than the originals
  17. Congrats on a nice and rare find. I am curious if the flash hider, moderator, or whatever else someone wants to call it is original in its design and not a non functioning show piece meaning that it is by ATF definition a silencer?
  18. This point gets me all the time when reading other forums regarding this. I have read too many people suggesting that for example you have an SBR ar15 with the barrel part engraved. All you have to do is swap the short upper with a long upper and you are good to go across State lines without permission as it is not an SBR. Now I have never confirmed this to be true or not, but if it is I would not be surprised and glad. Though I have a feeling that this advice is not legal and not that anyone would get caught as it would not be obvious and require inside knowledge or a lot of work. Just because the upper was taken off does not make it a non SBR all of a sudden.
  19. Thanks for the suggestions, I was not aware of these until you mentioned it. You are correct they are not cheap. Been on the hunt for hornet's nest and they too seem to not be as easy to come by or are also pretty expensive to get now.
  20. Again, I am not sure what you are basing this on. I did not follow the laws during some of the time period you mention, but currently there is nothing that I am aware of or able to find on the federal level that comes close to what you refer to. It could be on a local level near where you are. There are some worrisome things regarding the VA and guns, but it is not quite the same thing. It has been said by VA personnel that there are vets with PTSD that should not have guns and do, but the majority are some of the most responsible gun owners. No two ways about it.
  21. I am really grateful that this forum got moved over to its own as what once was causing me to not get into 40mm stuff has been smoothed out and now currently awaiting on the ATF to get a new M203. I can't wait. Anyone want to voice their opinion on leaf vs quadrant sights? General opinions and preference as I am torn on which one to get/use. I also found CDVS if you buy in "bulk" it drastically lowers the price per round as another source.
  22. Not entirely sure about this as one does not equal the other and I am sure there is more to this statement, but it comes off in a bad light. Simply put VA disability for PTSD does not equal no guns.
