Still Looking For A C&r Sten Mkii........

Recommended Posts

http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/dry.gif I'm still looking for a shooter.....I don't care what the gun looks like, as long as it functions well. Even a few tiny dents would be OK, as long as it runs flawlessly. I prefer that look of "Character"!

Price is a factor-but I am willing to pay what the gun is worth....I'm looking for a shooter and don't want to pay museum price for a showpiece that I'll feel guilty about shooting!

Please let me know if you have or know of anyone with one for sale. Thanks!!

The only C&R Sten MkII that I have seen available is the one I just bought from Oakland Arms in MN for the steep price of $6500.00. It's in pristine, reparkerized condition. The price went over $7100.00 after sales tax and the BATF transfer fee kicked in. Stens are getting harder to find in C&R classification. There are plenty of Post 86 Dealer Samples out there, but I am limited to C&R due to lack of a CLass 3 SOT.

I wanted to buy a C&R MP-40, but at $12000-$14000 I couldn't afford one, and had to settle for a Sten. At least the Sten works and is a bit more compact than an MP-40. It'll take a long time to pay off, though.

They way things are going, if you buy at $7,200...by the time its in your hot, sweaty hands...the market will have caught up or surpassed the price. Find one. Buy it. Or repent in leasure. http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/laugh.gif

You're going to be looking FOREVER if you want to find a C&R Sten for less than $6400 these days. C&R guns are generally in fine shape, not scratched, pitted, worn or having no original finish like many rewelded pre-1986 transferables or post '86 demo guns that are commonly available. C&R guns are typically owned by few owners in their history and are usually very well taken care of, and sometimes refurbished or refinished to preserve them in top appearance and condition. Perhaps you should obtain a Class III license and obtain the cheaper transferable guns. There appears to be only two other C&R stens advertised on the internet presently, and they are in great shape. Good luck!
