  1. If I could only have one, I'd be hard pressed to pass up the Zb 26. Something about the finned barrel and long gas tube makes it the most aesthetically pleasing MG I've ever seen, much more so than the Bren.
  2. Well, the waiting on the Form 4 has started! I bought the Group gun discussed further down the board, went and saw it at my dealer's place. Beautiful! Has brass ejection marks, and minor dings on buttstock, but other than that it looks new! Also, I shot one of these about 8 years ago, but I'd forgotten how heavy they are. VERY, VERY heavy. Can't wait to take possession! I'm planning on shooting CMP M2, FNM, or PS Korean, any other suggestions?
  3. nolmsted, thanks! I check that one, too. Any others? Or, does anybody know someone who is selling a 1919?
  4. Howdy, all. I anticipate having funds for a transferable 1919 sometime this week. I routinely check Subguns.com and Sturmgewehr, and I plan on calling the bigger dealers to see what they have, but do any of you know of other 1919's for sale at this time? Sideplate guns are what I'm looking for due to price of C&R's, and a shooter is what I would like. I appreciate any assistance that you guys can give me.
  5. I had a dealer whose SOT lapsed while he had one of my guns. As long as your gun is a transferable already in his possession, it shouldn't be a problem. If your state law allows it, he would just transfer the gun to you on a Form 4 like normal, although it would probably show him as an individual as the tranferor, not him as a FFL/SOT. Dealers are allowed to keep transferables and Pre-86 Dealer Samples that are in their possession when they give up their licenses, you shouldn't have any problems with that. If your guns are still in transfer to him, that may create some difficulty for you. As a worst case scenario, I'd think you would just have to find a new dealer in your state and start the transfers over again to the new guy. Hope this helps!
  6. I believe autoweapons.com has one for sale for $7200 IIRC. I don't know if that's in line with C&R prices or not, although they tend to be a little on the high side on other things. Hope this helps!
  7. I asked Jim Ballou about this gun, he had a similar question about the S/N. His thought was that it might be serial number "I", one of the alphabet serial number guns made for Colt executives.
  8. I bought this BAR. As for today's prices, I saw one in SAR a few months ago for $13500 (I think), but didn't have money at the time http://www.machinegunbooks.com/forums/invboard1_1_2/upload/html/emoticons/sad.gif Recently, I've seen Group guns for as high as 22000 (although I don't think they'll sell at that price). Anyways, 17000 was the best price I've seen for any BAR recently. I understand that Internet prices are higher than dealing with real people, but I don't live in a place with lots of stocking dealers anywhere close. I haven't seen this gun yet, but I certainly don't regret it. I can't wait! Next year I'm hoping for the WH M1a1!
